"Outstanding. Joseph is a consummate professional who is obsessed with perfection when it comes to his work. He strives for absolute perfection on each job he does for my clients and I continue to be impressed with the extent to which he and his crew do what they do. They deliver comfort and efficiency, and they do so with courteous consideration and regard for their clients. Using any other company to insulate my clients' homes would make no sense at all."

"Torsten Hansen has the patience of a saint. As I was considering my options with other companies, I bombarded him with a multitude of questions which he answered thoroughly and in a timely manner.
His price was the best.
I have one complaint. I have a bedroom above an unheated garage. We removed the old drywall and fiberglass insulation which was riddled with squirrel mess. We also added air conditioning to the house. There are heating/air conditioning ducts running at the side of one garage wall and across 3 areas of the garage ceiling. The HVAC contractor said to make sure those were well insulated or humid air would condense on the ducts and damage the new drywall. I thought that foam would be the best option.
Pure Seal did a really good job of insulating the side vents with high density foam. I had the ceilings and walls done in medium density foam. But, they left the bottom halves of the ducts across the ceiling unfoamed. In all but a few spots there was a good 2 inches or more space from the bottom of the vent to the end of the joist. I measured it . Torsten went out and looked at it from the ground and said there was nothing they could do. He said if I was worried about condensing water dripping onto the underside of the drywall when the air was on, I could staple some plastic over the areas. Not a good solution.
I tried to foam the vents myself with Great Stuff, but it would not stick to the horizontal surface of the ceiling ducts. It kept falling off. So I wound up ripping the vapor barrier off of some fiberglass insulation and tapping it up in the cavity below the ceiling vents. I then covered the fiberglass with reflectix stapled to the joists. I told Torsten what I did and he thanked me for taking care of it but stuck by his decision that they could not have done anything.
I was disappointed because this was one of the main reasons I wanted foam.
They also cut a wire in trimming the foam but he did offer to pay to fix that. My electrician was doing something else for us so he did not charge us. That kind of stuff happens and I would not fault him for that but they should have caught it when they inspected their job instead of me having to tell them about it.

"The attic insulation and other tasks were done in less than an hour. All indoor work was completed. Outdoor work was deferred due to cold weather. Work was performed as promised. After paying the bill, Jerry called back right away and informed us of an over payment. He had a check in the mail the next day.

"The insulation in my basement was falling down and in horrible shape. These guys came out removed and installed new insulation the same day! The 2 workers who came out were very polite and thorough!"

"The gentleman who called on me seemed more interested in further selling insulation than evaluating the advertised '$99 for Attic Inspection of Insulation, Ventilation, Exhaust Fan, Rodent Activity, Water Damage and More + Report!' For starters, I have blown-in insulation and he came to my house wearing dress shoes and then walking briefly in my attic with nothing covering his shoes. The information he provided was not very useful to me. Looked more like a set-up for more sales rather than a thorough analysis."

"We received an estimate soon after we contacted Jim at North Coast Insulation and Ventilation.. The estimate was detailed and covered all the work required. The work was completed efficiently and professionally on the day it was scheduled. We have noticed a big difference in our heating efficiency and would recommend this company highly. We did not get a second estimate so have nothing to compare pricing but feel it was well worth the money that we spent.

"Thinking I had an insulation issue because icicles were forming on on gutter, I got estimates from 3 companies. Ray Sabin, PM at NRG stated that my issue was the gutter not insulation. Ray is an honest vendor that will not sell you unnecessary services and products."

"My wife and I attended a presentation by James Manfield, the owner of GreenForce. We were impressed with company product and Jame's punctuality, professionalism and honesty. We decided to hire his company to add insulation to attic of my in-laws house. The installers came on time and over 9 hours managed to complete 95% of the job. The installers were polite, professional and clean. The subsequent installers came next day and completed the job. We are very pleased with James and the service provided by his company. As FYI, we had similar radiant barrier installed by another company in our own house in 2012 and we were pleased with the reduction in heating and cooling cost."
When choosing a professional insulation installer, consider asking these questions to determine the best fit.
Will you address air leaks in my house?
Can you provide an R-value (heat resistance) fact sheet?
What kind of insulation will work best for my home?
How do you handle signs of a water leak?
Are you licensed and insured?
Can you provide customer references?
The best type of insulation for your home depends on what you need, so the answer will depend on your specific situation. If you’re building a house, structural panels are easy to install during the building process in addition to being the most energy efficient type. If you live in a warm climate, reflective insulation may benefit you more as it costs less than other insulation types. And for standard attics, loose-fill, spray foam, or blown-in insulation work well.
If you plan to heat or cool your garage, you’ll need to insulate the garage ceiling. Insulating your garage ceiling will make your garage much more energy efficient and save on heating and cooling costs. Not only does insulation make your garage more energy efficient, it helps reduce noise and can extend the life of your garage roof. You can use fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, or spray foam insulation for this project.
In some cases, you may not have enough insulation to properly regulate your home’s temperature. Watch for a few signs your home needs more insulation, such as:
High heating and cooling bills
Uncomfortable room temperatures
Ice dams on the edge of your roof
Roof leaks
Cold floors and walls
Freezing pipes
Temperature fluctuations
Visibly low insulation
Noise problems
Pest problems
On average, insulating an attic costs about $2,500, ranging from $1,500 to $3,500, depending on the insulation type, amount, and your attic’s accessibility. Additional cost factors include sealing air leaks, removal or replacement of insulation, and inspections. Types of insulation include:
Blown-in: $1–$4 per square foot
Spray foam: $2–$5 per square foot
Batt: $2–$4 per square foot
Structural insulated panels: $4–$7 per square foot
Loose-fill: $2–$5 per square foot
Reflective: $0.50–$1.50 per square foot
