Small jobs welcome

DAM Concrete is a new company, built off of 10+ years in the trade. I started with my families company in Toledo, OH and then I joined Local 886 as an apprentice and in 4 years I became a Foreman. I decided to move down the Columbus 3 years ago working as a supervisor for a company. I've been on all sorts of projects from residential driveways and stamped patios, to commercial warehouses and apartment building to just name a few. I've always had the goal to own my own company one day, and I'm starting to live that dream.

"Our project was very difficult because we have a 50 year old home and we recently had the basement water proofed. We had a unique job to grind down all the cracks in our basement floor to a level surface for a wood composite floor installation. It was a learning process for all of us. But they met our expectations and went above and beyond. They worked with our floor installer a few times to review their work. The project was estimated 2 days but it ended up being 4 days because of the time consumption with grinding down the concrete. The epoxy layer at the very end took about an hour to cover 900sqft of our basement. They said the epoxy will smell. And We did have to check into a hotel for a few days to let the epoxy cure and avoid the fumes. But overall, we are very pleased with this company and would highly recommend them!"

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Yes, concrete driveways benefit from a driveway sealant. However, applying the wrong sealant to your concrete driveway can actually make it a safety hazard by turning the surface slippery if wet, so avoid epoxy or polyurethane sealers and go for an acrylic or a penetrating concrete sealer instead.

Most concrete sealers take about one to three hours to dry. However, those that penetrate may take up to 48 hours or more to completely dry. You can find specific drying details from the manufacturer on the label.

Most garage floor paints are epoxy-based and available in DIY kits. One-part epoxies are simpler to apply than two-part epoxies, which have a more involved process. Sometimes, people also use latex-based paint because it’s easier to clean up mistakes with soap and water. Either way, make sure your paint is specifically designed for concrete garage floors. It should say so on the label.

Concrete coatings protect surfaces from wear, physical damage, abrasion, stains, spills, moisture, and weather. This protection extends the life of the concrete, adds durability, and can also improve aesthetics and safety.

Exterior paint finishes come in a variety of options, but for concrete, your best bet is to go with an eggshell, satin, or semi-gloss latex paint. All three options are more durable than matte finishes and should help hide imperfections on your home’s concrete surface.
