"Install was easy. Up front cost was pretty low with Angie's List coupon. Monthly price is a little high compared to competing companies. Response time with alarms is excellent. I was advised to use glass break alarms within 10 ft of my first floor windows, which we installed correctly. I asked prior to installation if having one in the kitchen would cause false alarms due to dishes clanging, etc. I was told the glass break alarms are configured to a precise frequency that alarms with breaking glass. So, not a "no", but not really an answer. Well, every time we cook dinner, wash dishes or empty the dish washer, the kitchen glass break alarm gives a warning which would sound the alarm if it was set. This has caused us a number of false alarms while we've been away due to shifting bowls or plates in our drying rack. For the first several we've had to pay our police department $120 to check the house, and I was only notified after the first alarm that there was a cheaper option for a security company to drive by to check for a break in."

"Great company to deal with. Totally customer focused. My wife was not comfortable with me installing our security system myself, so internet based alarm companies were a no go. I contacted our existing company, Vector, Vivant, ADT & 1st Security. I met with all of the reps. Jeremy from 1st Security came to our home right away to conduct a detailed security assessment. He listened to our needs and our concerns with our existing landline based security system (through Vector), and he designed an effective yet practical and affordable set up for our home. Their prices cannot be beat- trust me I did my homework. Larry came to install the new security system and he was also great to deal with. "They gave us the best rate and the setup was great for ADT system. The installer did have to tell us about other options that would cost more money but he did not pressure us when we declined. We had door, window and motion detectors included. They gave us a week to practice on the new system, but we could call if we were ready to go live sooner which we did. Set up was quick, easy and uneventful. Very nice installer, Phillip Brown. The cost was quoted at a low price, but the bill came from ADT and was much higher. We were told the contract to ADT did not catch up and we will be getting the lower price with a reimbursement for the excess of the first bill. We did the $99 install and are getting a $100 gift card back. 3 year contract is a little annoying but we plan to stay here for a long time."

"We installed it ourselves. For all the equipment and everything it was $103. The price was very good because my monthly payment was only $49 a month. I like them better and I have heard too many horror stories for another company. Responsiveness, I would have to give them a 100%. I have set the alarm off by opening the door without turning it off and they were right on top of it to call and make sure we were okay. I love it. I feel safe. The quality is good. We own our equipment so when we move it will go with us. We have 9 sensors that came with that plus the other one that will go off when you move around, the motion sensor. I have had no bad problems at all. They are alert and call right away to make sure we are okay. I have the key fob and also it is battery operated if the power goes out. It is wireless and I can program it from my phone."

"Travis Johnson of Johnson Professional Painting did an excellent job on painting the exterior of our house. He responded quickly when I requested a bid from him and, after getting two additional bids, I gave him the job. Our house is a tri-level and on the large side, with some brick but also a substantial amount of wood siding and wood shutters and doors. Travis’ bid beat the other companies I solicited for the job by a significant margin. His proposed bid, in fact, made me wonder if the quality of his work was be less than the higher bidders. That fear was allayed the first day he began the job. We requested that all areas to be painted be power-washed and that was reflected in the statement of work. Trying to dodge of a string of rain days, Travis and his crew came over the next day and power-washed not only the wood to be painted, but also all the bricks, gutters, downspouts, and even a patio fence that was stained with mildew. When we saw he had done this, we reminded him we only requested the wood to be painted be cleaned. He responded that it wasn’t much more effort to do the extra work for no additional cost. We were impressed by that approach to the job. This demonstration of Travis’ team’s commitment to customer satisfaction and pride in workmanship was evident throughout the remaining two days of work. The team patched a lot of woodpecker holes and sanded areas that needed it and did a fantastic job. Travis and his team were polite, considerate, and friendly but their work demonstrated a level of professionalism that, in my opinion and experience, is not as common as it used to be. We inspected the work in progress and before we could advise Travis of the areas we thought needed more, we found he had already inspected the job in progress and made the necessary fixes. We also noted that Travis applied two full coats of paint on all surfaces and he even applied more where he thought it was needed. The front door, for example had five coats applied and it looks great. The bottom line is that we were extremely pleased with Travis and his Johnson’s Professional Painters team and would recommend him highly to our friends and family for any house-painting job. Given the attention to detail reflected in Travis’ work on our house exterior, we have no doubt that we will employ him if we need interior painting done as well."
