In general, PVC (polyvinyl chloride), PEX (polyethylene), and copper are the three piping materials used in new constructions when adding water supply lines. There are some caveats. Here’s how to unclog your drain with baking soda and vinegar: Pour in a half cup of baking soda, then 1 cup of white vinegar, and let the two bubble for 15 minutes. Then rinse out with boiling water. This method is much safer than using a chemical drain cleaner gel.

You need a sewage ejector pump if you have appliances or fixtures that use water below ground, such as basement sinks, bathrooms, or laundry facilities. If all of your indoor plumbing connections are above ground, on the main floor or higher, gravity can do the work without a sewage ejector pump.
