"We had to have some carpentry done on our foundation under where our back sliding door was located. The sill plate, rim plate and some of the floor joists were rotting due to water damage and needed replaced and we needed our back door replaced at the same time. We were having a lot of trouble finding a company that was even willing to do the work and any company we did find was giving us insanely high quotes. SRC was recommended to me by a friend of a friend and we could not be happier with how everything went. They were very communicative and were able to schedule our project in a timely manner. The crew was incredibly professional and the work they did was fantastic. The cost of services was very reasonable. We will definitely be using SRC for any future work that we may need done around our home."

"Chris was excellent! I highly recommend. We had a problem with our front door, literally for years. It continued to get worse and worse until it became a real problem. Chris and I diagnosed the problem, and Chris fixed it beautifully. It is such a pleasure to have our door work as it did when it was installed. He was prompt and went above and beyond. I will definbitely utilize Chris in the future"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

You can keep a dog from digging under a fence by filling existing holes in your yard, installing a wire to your fence bottom, burying your fence bottom, making a designated digging spot, and removing visual stimuli. You can also dissuade your dog from wanting to dig under your fence and escape by scheduling more one-on-one playtime and ensuring they are getting enough exercise to keep them stimulated.

Costs depend on material, labor, and additional features like gates or decorative elements.

While wood fencing is versatile and durable, there are other fence material options to consider. Check out our comprehensive list of the Best Types of Fences for Your Home to browse through some other fencing materials. Popular types include metal fencing, such as aluminum and chain link, and wood alternatives, such as vinyl or composite fencing.

There is no best color for a vinyl fence, as it truly depends on a homeowner’s aesthetic preference. Classic white is the most popular and widely available of all the vinyl fence colors. However, contemporary black, warm browns, and natural grays are becoming more mainstream. One perk of darker-colored fences is that they are easier to “keep clean,” as in, dirt and debris don’t show up as easily as they would on lighter-colored fences. So if you don’t plan to give your fence regular washings, a dark color like black, gray, or brown would be the best choice.

The ideal distance between fence posts depends on several factors, including the terrain, the purpose of the fence, and the material used. For different types of fences, here are some general guidelines:

  • Wood and Metal Fences: Posts should be spaced between 5 and 8 feet apart.

  • Vinyl Fences: Spacing can be between 6 and 8 feet.

  • Chain-Link, Mesh, or Lattice Fences: Posts can be set anywhere from 4 to 25 feet apart, with 4-10 feet being common for chain-link.

  • Wire Fences: Spacing can be up to 12 feet apart.
