"Tammy did the upstairs, 2 bdrms, 2 full baths, hallway and steps just as promised "wall to wall, and floor to ceiling"/ Outstanding!

The first floor was done by 2 other members and they did a good job, even though they missed some items. I'm confident that over time, TAS will be perfect for my needs. Tammy even folded laundry, carried 2 baskets of clean clothes from basement to MBR for me. She even cleaned bathroom fans!!! BRAVO! The 2 other members cleaned everything on my bookshelves - unheard of by any other cleaning service! Best cleaning company I've had by far, and I've had many over the last 25 years!"

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Yes, vinegar and water can strip wax. For a DIY wax stripper, mix about a quarter cup of vinegar with one gallon of warm water. You can also mix one cup of cream of tartar, one cup of white vinegar, and one gallon of water. Before using it on a large area of the floor, you should test it in an inconspicuous place to make sure it works like you want it to.

Besides feeling icky grit when walking barefoot in your home, not mopping the floors can create health risks. Pollen, dirt, dust, and overall filth lead to allergen, bacteria, and even mold buildup, polluting your home and creating an unhygienic environment. You also risk damaging the floors due to stains and scratches with neglect. Lastly, your home will become less inviting due to odors from the lack of cleaning.

The best way to clean vinyl floors is to vacuum or sweep away debris and then mop the floors using a mixture of warm water and dish soap or vinegar. You can also use store-bought cleaners if they’re marked safe for vinyl surfaces.

Commonly used in garages, epoxy is a synthetic resin coating that goes over the top of concrete surfaces. If you’re deciding between polished concrete and epoxy flooring, the best choice depends on your needs and personal preference. Epoxy is durable and highly customizable, while polished concrete tends to require less maintenance. They’re both long-lasting with similar price points, and professional installation is recommended for each.

If your floor is still sticky after mopping, chances are you used too much or too little of the cleaning solution. Using too little won’t get all of the grime off, but using too much can leave its own residue. Refer to the cleaning solution’s instructions and dilute it as directed.
