"He climbed on our roof and invested at least 4o minutes in helping us determine what was needed. I highly recommend him as an honest professional. He can replace siding, gutters, and windows. I would call him for a quote for these services."

"R.A.M. brought in top soil (very good-no stone or rock). Racked out and reseeded the lawn and over-seeded our lawn due to having to remove two 50 year old maple trees (no-thank to AEP). Tough work!"

"I called Yoders out to my house this spring when a tree hit my home.  Dan Yoder came out and performed an inspection on my roof.  He noticed damage to my shingles and some of my siding.  He helped me file the claim and met with my adjuster.  The adjuster paid for my entire roof and half my siding.  They did excellent work.  I would use Dan Yoder and Yoders Home IMPROVEMENT again."

"These guys are good. Their primary area of expertise is safe and accurate demolition; in my case they removed a deck from around my swimming pool. No damage to any adjacent areas, always asked me if I wanted something removed a certain way. I even tipped them 10 %. Would definitely use them again."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Natural ice melts can often get the job done without damaging concrete. You can try non-corrosive options such as kitty litter, alfalfa meal, coffee grounds, sugar beet juice, and heated snow-melting mats. While they may cause some staining, these natural melts are safe for concrete, pets, and the environment.

The fastest and most effective way to remove snow from a driveway is by using a powerful snow blower, such as a two- or three-stage model, which can clear the area in minutes. Other helpful options include a snow thrower, a wheelbarrow plow, and even a leaf blower for lighter snow. If you need immediate help, consider hiring a professional snow removal company to take care of it for you.

When temperatures drop far enough, even rock salt can’t melt the ice. The briny solution freezes before it develops, and the salt doesn’t work, which happens around 10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep in mind that wind chill and other factors impact ice-melting progress. Some ice melters, like magnesium chloride, work at colder temperatures and work better for deep winter freezes.

There is no hard and fast rule about using a snowblower on a specific amount of inches, but most snow removal experts suggest using one on 2 or more inches of snow for best results. This will also depend on what type of surface you’re working on and whether the snow is dry or wet.

While most people associate defrosting icy roads with salt, you can also use sugar for a similar result. Sugar lowers the freezing point of water, melting ice in a pinch.

However, sugar doesn’t melt ice as well as salt because it doesn’t separate the water molecules as efficiently. So, if you need to quickly melt a stubborn patch of ice on your driveway or walkway, it’s best to use salt over sugar for faster results.
