"Great! Very efficient. Cleaned up so well it was hard to tell they had been here. Installed a white board paneling on my very old walls. So happy with results. Matt & his crew exceeded our expectations."

"Several companies viewed my home and it was stressful. Stay dry made it laid back, didn’t pressure us and we made the right choice. I am happy and thankful for a dry basement and the approach they made. Thank you"

"Blue water was efficient about getting out to the house and within a week repaired two issues at my house with water getting into my basement and barn. Work was done skillfully with no damage done and smoothed out every area equipment was used. While on site I added some stump removal and was done before I knew it. Couldn’t recommend more."

"Levi Simpson was the plumber, had a stopped up bathtub drain in my 65 year old house. He has been here a few times in the last several years. Mr. Rooter had all my contact information on file, they came within hours right when they said they would. My house was well built in its day but old original plumbing takes care to not be damaged. He showed me in the basement underneath the affected bathroom where and what was the likely blockage This guy is professional, explained everything well and communicates well, very efficient, could not have been neater or more cordial."

"As a retired widow, Advanced treated me like a good son treats his Mother. Other companies have tried to take advantage of me but Marty was professional and treated my home as if it was his own. I had a 3rd crack that had minimal water during heavy rains and a floor drain was next to it. Another company tried to sell me everything they could but Advanced stated if you could live with a little bit of seepage from the crack, the floor drain will take of it. I was happy to save the $. If you are in need of their services, call them as they are Inspectors not salespeople who care and I'll be referring them out whenever I can."

"Ron came and assessed our situation and came up with a great solution. When the actual workers came to seal a foundation crack and put in a pencil drain, they were not aware of what Ron had recommended and didn't seem to agree with him. They assessed that we had water in the footers, which disappeared later that day when the city cleaned out the storm sewers. They came back the next day to put in a pencil drain from the footers to the basement drain. They were not careful about keeping debris out of the drain. We did have a small leak the next time it rained and asked them to come back out to see what was going on. Ron returned and recommended they re-do the work; they would schedule someone. After a few days we were called for an appointment. The original person who had done the work had been fired and the person C&J sent, was completely unaware of what work had been done or what he was supposed to do. And he did not have the right equipment to re-do the job. He said he would have them call and schedule a time to come out. They never called. We called multiple times to have someone come and see if things had been done correctly. They scheduled 3 appointments and cancelled 2 at the last minute because they were held up at another job, the 3rd they just didn't show. They said they would call and reschedule but they never did and they never responded to our multiple calls. The work they did caused us to have our washer & dryer moved, so we have not been able to reconnect them for 4 months. We have given up trying to get them to respond. The basement has not leaked but we aren't confident it has been adequately repaired, or that they will honor the 1 year warranty. Our total cost was $2200 which we paid according to the agreement."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

While sometimes used interchangeably, screen doors and storm doors have key differences. Screen doors are simple structures, typically composed of just a frame and a screen, designed to keep out bugs while allowing air circulation. In contrast, storm doors are heavier and more complex, built to protect your home's main entry door from weather and intruders. They usually feature an aluminum frame with interchangeable tempered glass and screen panels, allowing you to switch between ventilation and insulation. A storm door offers more protection and versatility but generally costs more than a basic screen door.

Storm doors provide an additional barrier for your main entryway and offer several features that can help deter intruders. Many models have glass panels, which let you see who’s outside without opening the door, and others come with their own locks, creating an extra layer of security. For the highest level of protection, it’s best to combine storm and security doors, security cameras, and alarm systems.

There are several potential causes of a gap at the top of your storm door. For one, your door may naturally start to sag as your house settles over time. Other possible explanations include loose screws, faulty hinges, damaged weatherstripping, or incorrect installation. The right solution for fixing a gap will depend on the cause.

If you know the damage a hurricane can cause, you know how essential it is to protect your home. Getting ready for hurricane season can go beyond roofing reinforcement and extend to other external entry points where water and wind could damage your home. You may want to install hurricane window film to protect windows and glass doors or invest in storm windows. Storm windows cost an average of $12,000 and offer impact-resistant window surfaces with a better chance of fending off high winds.

Storm doors last about 25 years, although high-quality and well-maintained storm doors could last up to 50 years. The type of storm door can impact lifespan, so be sure to consider the durability of different frame materials and glass types before making a purchase. Also, keep in mind that while storm doors can typically mitigate the impact of strong winds and harsh weather, repeated exposure to storms can wear down the door and shorten its lifespan.
