"Chris with Friesen Family Renovations, LLC was very professional and thorough in the work he has completed. He installed a new screen door, replaced my tub stem and faucet, repaired my subfloor in the kitchen and installed brand new LVP flooring to replace old and water damaged flooring. He also mounted a television for me, and did some drywall repairs as well. I would recommend this business to anyone looking for quality and dependable work!"

"Site Prep was great to work with. They worked around our schedule and communication was great. They were punctual and made sure to keep our yard safe from the bobcat. They removed our shed in a timely manner and made sure they cleaned up thoroughly. We are very pleased with the overall results."

"Had Ryan and his crew take down 2 fully mature Maple trees and multiple large bushes for a very reasonable price. Did a great job doing everything that was asked. Only reason for a less than perfect rating is it took longer than expected. I would definitely use them again and I would recommend them for someone else's project."

Small jobs welcome

"Very professional and prompt service. Called me back right away and showed up exactly when he said he would for an urgent excavation at our farm. Toby does really great work. Treated us, our land and project with the utmost respect. He involved us in the plan and made certain we were pleased with the results. Will definitely hire him again."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

If you choose to leave gaps between your pavers, you can grow some ground cover plants between them for an organic feel. Look for plants such as creeping thyme, dymondia, jewel mint of Corsica, or clover.

How much 4 yards of dirt will cover depends on how deep you want the soil to be. In general, a yard of dirt will cover 324 square feet for a 1-inch depth or 100 square feet for a 3-inch depth. Therefore, you can expect 4 yards to cover between 400 and 1,296 square feet if you keep your soil depth between 1 and 3 inches.

Yes, you can hydroseed with a garden hose, but you’ll need a tank or other large vessel for mixing the slurry, then a pump to send the slurry through the hose for spraying. Making your own hydroseeding unit can work, but it’s not usually worth the effort and supplies unless you already have them.

If you are xeriscaping a lawn from scratch, your best bet for preparing the lawn is to work with a xeriscaping specialist in your area. The most common first step to making the transformation, however, will be to remove the turfgrass from your lawn. The subsequent steps will often include amending the soil to support new plants and installing low-drip or drip irrigation systems.
