Hi my name is Cory Riley I?m a husband and a father of two boys, I started my company in 2023 I started out doing work for AT&T doing a lot of trench work and placing pipe. But I can offer many things such as land clearing, putting in new driveways, culverts, digging basements, pounds, or just simply digging a trench for placing pipe. I?ll go wherever the work is, I take pride in the work I do and love what I do, i treat every job as if I was doing it for myself. Hope to see you soon.

"I contacted JSE concrete to pour a garage floor. I had reached out to other concrete companies who would either say they would get back with me, but didnâ t, or would not respond to my messages altogether. Within a few minutes of messaging JSE I received a response. JSE promptly responded the following day to provide an estimate and started the project a couple days later. From day of first contact to job completion was literally around a week. I realize I was fortunate with timing due to weather and other job scheduling, but JSE was extremely prompt, courteous, and did not treat you like you were a bother but a valued customer. The quality of work was excellent and JSE went above and beyond by completing work they were not specifically paid to do and could have left for me to finish. I am very satisfied with my overall experience with JSE Concrete and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and use them again for future services."

Retaining Wall Installers questions, answered by experts

Small retaining walls still require a foundation of some kind, typically a concrete footing. This helps to ensure the wall is structurally sound and prevents the ground from shifting over time, especially during those winter freeze/thaw cycles. The footing helps spread the weight of the wall and the load it carries over a larger area of the ground, thus assisting with stability. This is true of small retaining walls, larger rock garden walls, and the like.

Failure to compact the soil during construction is the most common cause of leaning retaining walls. In addition, poor drainage can lead to excessive water pressure behind a retaining wall, pushing against it until it begins to move forward away from the soil it is holding back.

With foundation walls, the slab on grade and force at the top of the wall is resisted by flooring. With retaining walls, the force at the top of the wall is not resisted.

Installation typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the wall’s size and site conditions.

Railroad ties can be good for retaining walls, but it depends on the area. They have a desirable rustic look and are durable. The problem is they’re treated with creosote, a preservative the EPA says poses a risk to humans and wildlife. Over time, the preservative seeps out of the wood and into the ground. Many areas have banned the use of creosote-treated wood on residential properties. If your area does allow it, never use railroad ties near an edible garden or drinking water source. Instead, use wood that’s treated with an EPA-approved preservative or a wood-alternative composite material.
