"Rick and his team at Precision Waterproofing did an amazing job installing sump pumps in our basement. They were courteous, hardworking, and completed the project efficiently. I was especially impressed with the care they took with both the prep work and cleanup. Basement waterproofing can be a very dusty job, but they went above and beyond to protect our home and left our basement and the surrounding areas in great condition when they were finished. I would definitely recommend Rick and Precision Waterproofing to anyone needing waterproofing work."

"Jake and his crew from The Ohio Basement Company did incredible work, I am so happy with the sump pump system they installed. Not only did they do a great job, they left my basement in better condition than when they found it. Washer and Dryer were leveled and the framing that had to be removed was put back in better condition. Such a nice group of guys, I highly recommend them!!"

"They did a great job waterproofing the back wall of our basement. They were quick, efficient and treated the mold before covering the wall with vinyl. They had the best price. I would rate 5 stars if they cleaned up a bit better than they did plus they left the water dripping in my basement sink. Overall, I would recommend them for the work they did."

"We had a crack in our poured concrete foundation. We had estimates from other companies that involved waterproofing the entire lower level (it was already waterproofed) at very high prices without even addressing the crack. Eco-Seal Home Solutions addressed the problem we needed fixed, gave us a fair price, and completed the work in just a few hours. We will call them again if we have any other foundation cracks. Great work."

"They did a quick and good job of replacing our water heater. Called again due to standing water in our yard after every rain. They came out and installed a drain and tied my downspouts into it. They also put the excess dirt against the house to improve the grading. I can say after the fall rains and the repeated freezing/thawing in winter that the drain has kept everything dry and we have had no more water issues in the basement. I would recommend these guys."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

You can seal a concrete slab by cleaning the surface, filling in any cracks, etching the surface, applying a sealer, and letting it dry. Concrete slabs don't typically need sealing, but you can use a topical concrete sealer if you notice signs of water damage. If you haven't already fixed the cause of the leak, then you'll want to repair the plumbing before you seal a concrete slab.

Installing storm windows can protect your home’s interior from heavy storms. Most storm windows are made with enamel-coated aluminum with screens and sliding glass panels. They also make your house more energy-efficient. The average storm window cost is $12,000, ranging between $4,250 and $19,850, depending on mounting, window types, glass types, and frame materials.

Mold growth is just one common sign of excess moisture in the bathroom. You may also see the paint in the room start to peel away from the walls, or that the walls remain wet for some time after you bathe.

Condensation on the windows is another sign that your bathroom has a potential moisture problem. The room itself may start to smell like mildew.

The most flood-resistant materials you can count on in a flood scenario are concrete, closed-cell insulation, foam insulation (also known as expandable foam), pressure-treated wood, marine-grade plywood, and ceramic tile. When a material is flood-resistant, it can withstand direct contact with floodwater for at least 72 hours without being significantly damaged.

It depends on what caused your basement flooding, the extent of the problem, and the risk of the flood continuing. If your flood is coming from a septic system or sewer line, breathing in the sewer gasses can be dangerous, so you should vacate. If the flood occurs from an ongoing natural disaster, relocating to a safe area might be wise. If you just have a plumbing leak or rainwater coming in, you can likely stay in the house if you don’t have electrical lines down there, but make sure you call in professionals to fix the issue immediately.
