"We are so happy with our new Frisby roof! We originally contacted Frisby because we were getting water in our basement and dining room floor. They came over very quickly to look our water damage & figure out where the water was coming from. They quoted a great price to replace our 20 year old roof and communicated with us on all aspects of replacing the roof, giving us samples of roof colors, etc. Our new roof was installed yesterday in one day, by their very professional workers, with Frisby showing us photos of roof damage/repairs throughout the day!! The workers also left our property so neat that you would hardly know they were there all day! All around great company to work with!"

"Below is our review of using A&B Granitecrete Cincinnati. The review is for the sole purpose to share our experience so that other do not fall into the same issues. In the beginning of February we met with the Salesman of A&B. He introduced their product that we had been looking at for the last 2 years. The salesman took measurements and photos of the area in order to present us a quote. After receiving the quote we took some time to review the cost and what they had presented for durability. On February 17th we placed a down payment for the order to begin. Note: For the deposit A&B require ½ of the total sum. Our contract was scheduled to be built on March 21st. With a completion date of March 29th. After, not hearing from A&B on the 29th. I sent them an e-mail to find out the status of the order. The response was “We should be ready to install next week and will write you Monday” The next communication from them was an e-mail on Wednesday the 4th. Asking if they could install the next day. After some writing back and forth it was settled that the installation would happen on Friday the 6th. On Friday the team arrived in the morning. They looked over the area and began to disassemble the counter tops. (The night before we cleaned out the cabinets and removed all items from the countertop to help the process go more smoothly.) The smaller countertop was placed. But, there was an issue. It did not appear to fit. After flipping the counter top over to try and find the issue. It appears the unit was built upside down and completed on the wrong side. Now on the other counter top with the kitchen sink. Once in place they quickly realized that there was an issue here too. The counter top was 3” short on the longest side. After inspecting the salesman sketches and what were actual cabinet dimensions. There were 2 issues. #1 was the construction of a 1st counter top. And #2 with the salesman measurements was incorrect. Both pieces delivered were wrong. During this time the installers also mention I needed to have a plumber install the pipes for the faucet and the sink. This was never mentioned by the salesman. So, I had no arrangements to have a plumber visit. Owner of A&B did agree to hook everything after the disaster of the counter tops not working. The Owner of A&B promised they would work and get the new counter tops to me as quickly as possible. And offered some discount for the inconvenience. I also requested a piece of the 1st countertop to be sent. This was to be used as a cutting board. The installer assured this would be no issues as they would scrap the counter tops. On Tuesday April 10th the owner contacted me to schedule the installation. We agreed for the install to be on Friday April 13th. They also agree to pay for the plumber to install the sink and faucet. We agreed to this as it’s not in the contract nor was it mentioned by the salesman. On Friday the 13th when the team arrived they were quick to disassemble the counter tops again. Starting around 8:00 - 8:30 and was out before 9:30. During this time they had made some careless mistakes by hitting the kitchen window sill and hitting the upper kitchen cabinets with the old counter tops. Paint was removed and some blemishes were now apparent on the cabinets. Again we understand that these accidents can happen. After the install I had pointed out to the installer that the counter top with the sink looks not correct either out of level or crooked. He assured me it was either my cabinets or an optical Illusion. But, they never checked with a measuring tape or a level. I paid them the remaining balance. The installers told me to call if we see any issues. On Saturday morning with my wife we looked everything over and noticed the color was not correct. We are missing the black color that should have been added. We had sent to owner the photos of the sample we had ordered and the 1st counter top they installed. Those colors were correct. But, the 2nd countertop that was delivered and installed was missing the black completely. Now we have tiles being installed that are 2 weeks behind schedule. It was pointed out that the counter top is now lifting up on the backside. It has lifted 3/8" of an inch. It turns out that no screws were installed to secure the countertop. Stephen the installer should remember I pointed out that it looked not level / crooked to the counter and cabinets. Not only did they not secure the back corners of the counter tops they also did not place any shim in order to level or provide support for the top. After back and forth e-mails and phone calls with the owner of A&B about the installations issues. You will get many apologies and excuses. That’s if you can get ahold of the owner. It’s tough as he works a full time job somewhere else. They have offered to re paint the existing countertop. But, this requires removal for up to 1 week and then re-install again. I prefer not to go this route as I don’t want them to damage our tile. I had sent photos and provided details of the problems. He assured me that they have 25 years of experience. And that we are human and accidents happen. He also assured me his team made the installation correctly. And offered us a 20% discount for any future service. Again let's highlight the inconvenience. 1.) 2 weeks late from scheduled installation according to the contract. Start date was March 21st. Completion Date was March 29th. Not completed till April 14th. 2.) Incorrect measurements. This caused by their salesman. The 1st counter top install was a fail. Only was noticed after the original countertop was removed. 3.) Delivery of the incorrect color. Not, as the sample or the 1st countertop delivery. Admitted mistake by the owner. 4.) And lack of completion of the installation. It was missing screws to secure the countertop. So, maybe it’s normal for the product to pull up in the corners? This was pointed out at the installation. About the countertop looking like it was not level. And the installer said it was optical illusion. They never used a level to verify or re-measured. Ask yourself why would a consumer be responsible for installation of a sink after the installer removed it? Again for a company that been in business for 25 years you would think it would have been mentioned by the salesman or in the contract. Also, look at the contract closely. The salesman will say that you can use the counter top after 7 days. The product will become fully hardened. In the contract it states differently. The contract says for 27 days for the product to fully cure and you should cover it for 7 days to protect it from scratches. Then you will see that no warranty is expressed anywhere. If you have time and allot of patience this route will save you money. But, If you want the job done correctly then think it over after reading this experience."

"It took a lot of phone tag to finally get the technician to our house, but once here he was efficient and professional and did an amazing job. The chip was in the edge of a white quartz countertop, very difficult to match perfectly, and the repair is absolutely invisible. Not the lowest bid, but worth the price."

FAQs for marble and granite service projects in Cincinnati, OH

Installing a marble backsplash costs about $2,200 on average, ranging from $600 to $6,000, depending on the variety of marble and the labor costs to prep and install. Common types of marble used for backsplashes include:

  • Makrana: $12 per square foot

  • Pink: $25 per square foot

  • Carrara: $40 per square foot

  • Statuatrio: $50 per square foot

  • Cultured: $65 per square foot

  • Travertine: $75 per square foot

  • Danby: $80 per square foot

  • Calacatta: $180 per square foot

Marble countertops cost $3,000 on average, ranging from about $2,000 to $5,000, depending on the type of marble, square footage, location, and whether you use tiles or slabs. Another major cost factor to consider is the grading of the marble, which determines its quality level.

Use this grading system when selecting marble for countertops:

  • Grade A: Nearly perfect with subtle veining

  • Grade B: Minor flaws such as pits, fissures, or blotches

  • Grade C: Minor and major flaws like chipping and cracks requiring repair

  • Grade D: Significant damage needing repair, with dark veining and pronounced colors

Granite and marble compare well against each other in terms of price, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Deciding which one is better depends on your personal style and preference. Both materials resist damage like chips and cracks well. You should seal both material types against staining and etching, but they’re still susceptible if oil, wine, coffee, tomato sauce, or juice are left on the countertop long enough. As material and installation costs range similarly, the deciding factor is your budget, design, and preferences.

Installing granite kitchen countertops costs about $3,250, ranging from $2,000 to $4,000, depending on the quantity and quality of the granite, use of granite tile or granite slabs, the type of granite, and its color and texture. Varieties of granite include:

  • Alaska white: $35 per square foot

  • Ubatuba: $30–$60 per square foot

  • Silver cloud: $35–$40 per square foot

  • Absolute black: $45–$60 per square foot

  • Black galaxy: $50–$70 per square foot

  • Blue Louise: $70–$100 per square foot

  • Crema Bordeaux: $80 per square foot

  • Solarius: $60 per square foot

Overall, granite tends to cost more than marble. Prices for each material will fluctuate depending on the source of the stone, your location, shipping costs, and the thickness of the material. Labor to install marble or granite countertops typically ranges from $35 to $45 per hour. Granite and marble tile and slab costs compare as follows:

  • Marble tile: $7–$10

  • Granite tile: $5–$15

  • Marble slab: $25–$60

  • Granite slab: $50–$100
