Owner operated. Cost is determined by the job. No travel charge. Service fee of $65.00 as of 1/25/08. Extra charge for after hours service.

"Hired them to do roof and gutters. Roof was good, gutters terrible. The pitch is wrong and not daring toward the downspouts. They didn't install a drip edge on back of the gutters so now when it rains the water leak behind my gutters along my facia board. This will cause rot and with them not draining will eventually fall off! I have tried contacting the owner Rodney for close to a year now and all he says is, "I'll get out there or I'm covered up". I just want what I paid for. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY DO NOT HONOR THIER WORK. ONCE THEY GET PAID AND LEAVE YOU WILL NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN!!!!"

DBAs - BT Spence Construction. We have been in business since 1998 serving North KY, Cincinnati, OH, Lexington, and Louisville KY. We have 15 employees and we specialize in insurance claims roofing, siding, gutters. Additional contacts - (800) 680-6257, (859) 746-9622.

"Stay far far away from this guy Matt Spence co. He knows nothing and I mean nothing about roofing. This came from one of his subcontractors that actually royally messed up a roof install in southgate ky. Matt wants to blame everything for problems except his poor business management and inability to run a legitimate business. He has wasted many hours and a significant amount of money for his endless excuses to cover up a very poor job. I Would never ever ever recommend this company to do anything related to home improvement. Pathetic!!"

FAQs for chimney cap service projects in Cincinnati, OH

Chimney caps may be installed by a few different professionals, including a chimney sweep or a mason that specializes in fireplaces and chimneys. A gas fireplace technician is the best person to install a chimney cap on a gas log fireplace vent to be sure the cap is appropriate for the application.

A chimney cap costs about $300 on average. The prices range from about $75 to $1,000, depending on the material, size, any repairs needed, and if your chimney cap requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, copper, or stainless steel. Additional costs may include hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before a cap is installed.

Yes, it’s worth capping a chimney. Here are several reasons to install a chimney cap:

  • Keep out rain, snow, wildlife, and other debris

  • Help prevent chimney fires

  • Reduce your chimney’s exposure to moisture

  • Maintain your chimney flue liner

  • Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature

Typically, a chimney cap will last from three to 25 years. This wide range is due to variables like climate, the material the cap is made from, and how often you use your fireplace. Regular inspections and maintenance can help extend the life of your chimney cap.

The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.
