"This company did exterior paint/stain in white on our small deck & very long privacy fence (28 8 ft. sections); both sides. They did power wash it first, then applied 2 coats of exterior paint. We also hired them to paint/stain our rental's decks in back & front; both in black. This very efficient team did an outstanding job. Looks great!!!"

"I couldn’t be happier with the job he did painting my salon. The space feels so much more elevated, clean, warm, and beautiful. From start to finish, he was professional, dependable, and took great care while working in my salon. He helped me pick out which shade of green(I was indecisive), I knew I wanted a dark green, but I couldn’t pick just one. I went from a very light, pink and dark teal to this beautiful luxe, rich olive green. I couldn’t be happier with his advice and eye for color. (I included before & after pictures) I also really appreciated how meticulous he was throughout the project. There wasn’t a single drop of paint on the baseboards, outlets/switches, or sconces. It’s obvious he takes pride in his work, and the finished walls have a flawless, professional look. I’ve already had clients comment on how fresh and beautiful the salon looks. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, skilled, and truly cares about quality, I highly recommend him."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

It's okay to walk on a newly painted deck after about four to six hours as long as the weather has been dry. Be sure to wait at least 24 hours before you place any outdoor furniture or grills on a freshly painted deck, though.

An exterior paint job typically lasts between 5 and 10 years, though this can range from 3 to 17 years depending on several factors. The longevity is influenced by the quality of the paint and primer, the quality of the application, the local climate, and the type of surface being painted. For example, paint on wood siding may need to be redone every 3 to 7 years, while painted brick can last up to 17 years. Aluminum siding often needs repainting every 5 years.

Waterproof paint creates a barrier to hold back moisture, but it doesn’t eliminate the source of the water. If you hire a basement waterproofing contractor, many will tell you that waterproof paint is only a temporary solution. On average, you can expect it to last from six months to two years in a wet basement before deteriorating.

It’s best to prime composite decking before painting. This promotes better paint adhesion, helps create a smooth finish, and can mean the paint job will last longer. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application, allow ample primer drying time before painting (typically 24 to 48 hours), and thoroughly clean the deck boards to promote the best adhesion.

Whether you can paint over your existing paint depends on what’s on there. Most of the time, you’ll want to sand down or scrape off the paint that’s currently coating your surface. Epoxy paint, for example, won’t let new paint stick to the surface. Latex paint is more forgiving and will accept a new coat, but a primer is recommended if you’re switching colors.
