"Greg was very easy to work with and schedule for the sewage line video inspection during my recent home purchase. After inspection found some roots blockage they were also able to clean out the sewage line during the same appointment. I would strongly recommend their services."

"As I requested they provided the cost for drain snaking upfront. A simple procedure that most others would not quote. (They wanted to do a separate "diagnostic" visit and additional fee. The work was fine. The technician very competent and concientious about keeping things clean. The only rub, they wanted $179 to put the toilet back in (way out of line). I think they could have told me. Nevertheless, I drove to home depot for a wax ring and had it done in 10 minutes. Overall, a 4 oout of 5. If they charged a more reasonable rate for reseating the toilet i would have had them do it, and would have rated a 5."

"The absolute best in northeast Ohio. I have used other companies and I can easily say Arcos mechanical is the best plumbing service I have used. These guys cleaned up my sewage and replaced the broken one when I was in need of the service. They gave me a good price and worked well with my schedule. They provided valuable information and advice."

"The builder failed to connect the shower drain to the shower drain pipe. I called the Plumbing Source and was referred to Remodeling Source, same company. They were able to connect the shower drain to the shower drain pipe. The did an excellent job, Everything was explained to me in advance my questions were answered. The gentlemen who did the job were very nice and professional. They did an excellent job and were able to pull the shower stall out without any damage also placed cardboard on the floor to avoid damage. They put down drop clothes on the floors to keep my floors clean and cleaned up any mess. The price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this company. The price quoted was the price I paid."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Roto-Rooter does not charge by the hour, so the quote you get after your in-person consultation should cover the whole project. This includes the time it takes a technician to get to your house and the time it takes to complete the job. For context, a plumber will charge anywhere from $45 to $200 per hour, but you may also pay a service fee or flat fee.

The average cost to snake your main sewer line is around $250 for a simple snake. Most sewer line specialists charge between $45 and $200 per hour for main sewer line snaking, so the time involved plays a major role. The price you’ll pay will depend on the severity of the clog, the item causing the backup, how long it takes to remove the item, and more. A more severe issue that requires unclogging a main sewer line will cost $3,100 on average.

Some experts estimate that descaling your cast iron pipes can extend their lifetime by upwards of 50 years, although there’s not a lot of research to prove it. But we do know that without proper maintenance, cast iron pipes can quickly rust—leading to more expensive issues like burst pipes or main line clogs.

DIY is not recommended due to safety risks and specialized equipment requirements. Hire professionals for effective clearing.

When hiring a sewer line company, you need to consider more than just the quoted price. Make sure to check that the company or contractor is licensed, certified, and insured to protect you both. Check for positive reviews, and you can even request references for extra peace of mind.

To find the best contractor, you might also want to consider how long the company has been in business doing sewer line cleaning and if they’ve won any industry awards for their work and service. Review potential contracts closely, and look for transparent pricing.
