"Maxima was thorough in reviewing our needs and scheduled the work to minimize disruptions on our street. Their pricing was very competitive. The work was done in the scheduled time despite some rain delays. The crews were very coordinated, personable and respectful of residents. The completed work has received many positive comments not only from our homeowners but visitors to our community. I would certainly use Maxima again and highly recommend them to anyone wanting quality concrete work."

"Rick and his team were very professional and timely. He did an excellent job! He communicated well throughout the entire project, unlike many concrete contractors. I absolutely love the stamped concrete patio and walks that they put in my backyard. - Paul in Old Town East"

"The work was great. Mark was very responsive and did an assessment of our other concrete and told us it was in good order. He did not try to up sell me. Work was completed when he said it was going to be done and he came back and checked his work after the job was complete."

DAM Concrete is a new company, built off of 10+ years in the trade. I started with my families company in Toledo, OH and then I joined Local 886 as an apprentice and in 4 years I became a Foreman. I decided to move down the Columbus 3 years ago working as a supervisor for a company. I've been on all sorts of projects from residential driveways and stamped patios, to commercial warehouses and apartment building to just name a few. I've always had the goal to own my own company one day, and I'm starting to live that dream.

"Chris and several employees came at 11 in the morning and were done by 3 p.m. I was SO impressed by how careful they were and what a good job they did. Chris pointed out several other nearby problems and took care of them because it wouln't be right not to, and said he wouldn't charge me extra. I was so impressed I paid him more than he wanted to charge. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing concrete work."

"Excellent. I'm (Steve) a former construction project engineer with experience in concrete and approached this with a very critical eye and plenty of questions. Dan and his crew satisfied all my Qs and did excellent work. He also suggested a nice curving alignment to replace our front walk which is a great improvement, and he brought in 6CY of topsoil at cost and spread it in the front yard to bring the yard, which had settled a great deal over the years, up to the level of the new driveway. The new concrete and topsoil have made a great improvement in the curb appeal of our house."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.

Many contractors offer warranties for their work. Confirm terms before starting the project.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The total drying time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it needs to harden fully to prevent the concrete slab from shifting under added weight. You should avoid walking on the concrete or placing heavy items like furniture or vehicles on the surface until it has fully set. Your concrete contractor can provide a precise timeline. As a point of comparison, if you opt for polyjacking, the polyurethane foam can dry in minutes, but it's recommended to wait about an hour before use.

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.
