"Found these guys on Angis and asked for a quote on a metal roof and gutters. This was the only contractor to get back to us within the week. Their sales rep Andy Leach came out and was very professional and we could tell by the way we he spoke with us that he takes a lot of pride in his work and his company. We decide to use them based on this and the fact that they use higher end materials and offer a great lifetime warranty. It was a quick and efficient process. They came out to start our metal roof in under 2 weeks and was done in just a few of days with the roof and the 6 inch gutters we had them install. The project Caleb, stayed in contact with us and made sure to iron out a few issues and took care of the cleanup for us. Great company, good people. Would recommend them to anyone who asks."

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

"The man who was supposed to come to give us a job price never showed up. We contracted the three jobs out to another concrete professional. We also hired another contractor to do a porch."

Thanks for checking out my profile! I’m someone who enjoys helping people tackle the projects they don’t have time for. "Joseph did an excellent job redoing our stair rails and bannisters, we?re very happy with the end result. He was efficient and a great communicator. He able to quote the job from photos and sent us a clear materials list upfront. His pricing was very reasonable, and he recommended a great painter to stain the railing. We?d happily use him again and highly recommend his work"

"Iâ m a very tough grader and i could not grade Joe any higher. His price was reasonable, he was on time every day and completed the work to perfection. The project at my house took 4 days and every night the work space cleaned thoroughly. Joe is courteous and contentious while also an excellent trim carpenter."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Yes, a 2x6 should hold a porch swing and safely support the load. A smaller joist runs the risk of it not offering enough support for the swing. If you have a joist smaller than 2x6, add additional bolstering support.

There are approximately 5.33 board feet in a 2x4. You can use the board foot calculator in this article to easily find the answer. A 2x4 is 2 inches of thickness by 4 inches of width, so you need to find the length, with 8 feet being the most common. You’d use the calculator here to multiply 2 times 4 times 8, and then divide by 12, arriving at a total of 5.33 board feet.

If the bowing basement wall is less than 2 inches, steel or carbon fiber straps are the best solution. For bowing that is more than 2 inches, wall anchors are the most effective. A contractor can help you decide the best method of repair for your home's foundation and also address the root cause of the trouble.

While some highly experienced homeowners can frame a house independently, it is not advisable. You will need ample carpentry experience, a team of helpers, and professionals to sign off on your work to meet local building codes. For the safest outcome, we recommend buying or building a house with the guidance of professionals.

No rules state how much of a load-bearing wall can be removed. Rather, you need to adequately support any area that is removed. Support should always be added to as much wall area is being removed. Failing to support the area properly will result in structural damage.
