"EXCELLENT! On time! Reasonably priced! GREAT attention to detail! Hire them now! You will be so happy you did! I needed to relieve some stress, because I have a demanding career AND own a small business. Hiring someone to take care of housekeeping was an easy way to take a huge task off my hands! Today was our deep cleaning with this company & we will be hiring them to clean weekly! They have options of weekly, biweekly and monthly! Having a clean home is so relaxing! Thank you so much to your professional, courteous staff!"

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"Nathan was able to turn our tiny, odd shaped Jack and Jill bathroom into two beautiful bathrooms even though other contractors had told us that it couldnâ t be done without a major cost. He came in well within our budget and provided quality work. He worked with us on the design, and now both bathrooms are beautiful and feel larger than expected while working within the original footprint. Heâ s a hard, honest contractor with an incredible talent. I have already referred him to a couple of friends who are also very happy with their new rooms."

"Most surfaces in my home have been replaced over the past 10 years but I still don't like to clean. Tammy and her crew cleaned everything as promised and cleaned everything well. I am very pleased with the results and will have her come out for regular cleanings. POSITIVES:   No fingerprints or grease on kitchen appliances and walls above and around the stove. Everything was dusted - the blinds, ceiling fans, wall-to-wall book shelf and books. The bathroom toilets, floors, mirror, and sinks are clean. The mineral deposits on my bronze kitchen faucet are gone. Carpet vacuumed well, including the stairs. The light in the drop down ceiling was free of dead lady bugs. Dryer lint removed from around the washer/dryer. NEGATIVES:  only 3 small things - the bathroom sink fixtures not completely clean, toothpaste splatter left on the wall around the sink, and the kitchen counter a little sticky where it meets the back splash.

Small jobs welcome

"We had hired Total Home Improvement on a project in the past and was very pleased with their work. So when a new project came about Paul was the first we called. We had our kitchen flooring replaced from Vinyl to Ceramic tile. It looks amazing! We are more than pleased with work. We would definitely have him back and would recommend his work to others."

"From the first day when Mr. Owens came to estimate my move I felt comfortable and that I would be taken care of very well. Due to our situation of selling our house in Butler before finding a house in Fredericksburg we were in the position that we were unsure if storage for a length of time would be needed or not. We were fortunate enough to find housing a week before our move and they were able to move us directly. The first driver, Joe, was on time and very professional throughout the process. Our household goods unfortunately did not all fit on the first truck (on Tuesday), therefore causing an overflow issue. This meant that Joe had to come back the following day (Wednesday) to finish packing up our house and then these items went into storage and would be transported at a later date on another truck, which was the only negative in my entire move. Joe then drove the first truck down and that truck was unloaded on Friday with the beds being put back together and mirrors put back on the dressers. Even through the whole overflow issues everyone was upfront and honest about all the issues that arose which I truly appreciated because I did not get any false information/reassurances about when the second shipment would arrive. I realize now after talking to my second team of movers (Alvin and Lenny - who were fantastic as well) that this networking and undertaking to ship households is very complicated and especially with overflow issues. Because of this I truly appreciate Tammy (at the home office) and Mr. Owens (my estimator) work in keeping me informed and having my second truck come within two weeks of the first delivery (this actually gave me time to unpack the first shipment before I had to deal with more boxes). The movers were wonderful and considerate that I had two young children in the house during all the loading and unloading (except for today) and I truly appreciate the way they acted!! They took care with my items and treated me with the utmost respect and courtesy that made this move a good one. The only grade that was not an A was the punctuality and this was a B because I was not prepared for the overflow situation that occurred, but the way the company handled it was very professional and honest. I would definitely move with Allied Moving Company again!!! And a huge thank you to Allegheny Transfer for all their hard work and their honestly and professionalism throughout this move.

FAQs for closet service projects in Athens, OH

Building a custom closet costs about $2,000, on average. Because many types, sizes, and designs are available, the cost to build custom closets ranges from $250 to $6,000 or more. A reach-in closet is on the lower end of the price range from about $250 to $1,500, compared to a walk-in closet at $750 to $3,500 or a wardrobe at the high end between $1,500 and $6,000 or more.

The main difference between a closet and a wardrobe is that a closet is a separate room for general storage with its own door, and a wardrobe can be either built-in or freestanding place to store clothing. A walk-in or reach-in closet connected to a bedroom often serves the same purpose as a wardrobe by primarily storing clothes and shoes. A built-in wardrobe often does not have doors and leaves clothes exposed to view, whereas a standalone wardrobe usually has doors.

You may need a building permit to add a closet, depending on the size and kind of work required to install it. The most likely scenario requiring a permit involves changing the structure of the house and performing electrical work for closet lighting. A permit can cost between $100 and $450. If you’re installing a smaller reach-in closet, a permit may not be required, but always check with your local municipality and consult a closet designer or builder.

Different types of closets are defined mostly by size. A few different types of closets include:

  • A reach-in closet is a smaller closet that you can stand in front of and reach everything inside it. Aside from the size, the doors and the level of drywall finish are typically the largest price factors.

  • A walk-in closet can be anything from a small 5-by-5 feet closet that has a narrow walkway with shelves on both sides to a 100 square foot bedroom-sized closet with shelving along the walls and plenty of room to move around in.

  • A built-in wardrobe often does not have a door and leaves the clothes and other contents open to the room, whereas a closet usually has a door to separate it from the rest of the room.

Yes, building a custom closet can definitely add value to your home. Creating a more useful and pleasing space to your home, especially a custom closet for prospective home buyers to imagine as their own, is likely to increase the value. However, avoid overdoing it with a closet that takes up too much space that’s otherwise more useful as living space, or paying extra for overly lavish materials and finishes that aren’t likely to add more value than they cost.
