"George and his crew were on time and did a great job. When they left the yard looked the same as it was when they got there. They were about 70 feet tall and crew a great job. Would hire them again in a heartbeat and will again this fall for my Bradford tree in front yard."

"Mr. Hernandez replied immediately to my inquiry. He arranged to meet me onsite within one day. He considered the project, which included removing several large trees, made recommendations, and gave me a fair estimate of the job. After we made a contract, he and his team began the work the same week and finished in three days. His service includes removal of wood and debris. He is very personable and aims to please the customer. I definitely recommend Hernandez Tree Service LLC."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

An unsafe tree can cause serious damage to your home and property, so tree inspections are important to ensure your home isn’t in danger from a nearby tree. Unhealthy trees can also be unsafe trees, as diseases and insect damage can compromise a tree’s stability, leading to potential damage and safety risks.

The safest way to cut down a tree is to make sure you’re completely prepared and have done all the necessary safety checks, including double-checking your equipment is in good working order, you have plenty of clearance to fell the tree, you’re wearing all the safety gear, and you have a partner to help you (who should also be wearing safety gear).

Some people prefer to leave or even carve a leftover stump, but we recommend removing it if possible. You can often dig out smaller trunks with a shovel once they have died and dried out. You can have stumps professionally removed, or request a service to grind them down to ground level so they can be replaced with other landscaping or objects.

Most jobs take 2-8 hours, but extensive trimming may take multiple days.

Before you cut down a dead palm tree, try to revive it using the methods listed above. However, there are instances when it makes sense to remove a dead palm tree, including:

  • The heavily infected tree will infect nearby trees, bushes, and plants.

  • The palm’s roots are overtaking your yard, foundation, and sidewalk and causing structural damage.

  • The tree is unstable and a hazard to your property, your neighbor’s property, and pedestrians.
