"We recently hired Paint Life to paint our entry way, kitchen and family room, which has about 18-foot-high ceilings. Right off the bat, I was impressed with Paint Life. From their response time on a request from an estimate and the extremely detailed proposal to the follow-up calls after the work was completed to see if everything went as expected. Rich is extremely professional in everything he does, and you can tell he cares about his clients with the personal touch he adds in conversations and suggestions. From start to finish, the project went smoothly. The project manager, Johnny, was professional, courteous, very friendly but above all, extremely talented. Some of our walls were in extremely rough shape with nail pops and the previous owner doing sheetrock repair on their own so they needed a lot of work. After the job, there are very few spots that we even notice anymore as the walls now look phenomenal, even with the Satin finish which tends to show more imperfections. The attention to detail and willingness to take feedback on spots we’d liked touched up was refreshing. It truly felt like we were a part of the project from start to finish. Johnny took the time to explain what was going to be done at the end of each day and discussed what would be getting done the next day. They maintained a rather clean and tidy work area as well. Even after the job was done, Rich called to ensure everything was in order and scheduled a time to come out and fix a few minor touch-up spots we noticed after the work was done. Rich is also always trying to improve the business and accepts constructive criticism from “very particular” clients like myself. I would not hesitate one second in hiring Paint Life for my next interior paint project or to recommend them to my friends and family. Can’t thank Rich and the team enough."

"The original project targeted only the Kitchen with minimum lay out modification. We later added removal of a wall and closet, replacing the dining room floor and painting the is one and the living room. We requested 7 quotes in total since this was a major project. We decided to work with Remodeling concepts due mainly to: - Derek's professionalism, - a timely response during the quoting process. We made four modification to the original project changing design and scope of work, - a very competitive price, - solid references, - have insurance and be licensed. The job started on the agreed date, and run as scheduled. Derek's team follows his professionalism, and they demonstrated a high level of expertise. Demolition (walls, closet, cabinets, etc), cleaning, framing, sheet-rock & taping, tile and back-splash work, plumbing and gas work, cabinets installation, electrical work, appliance installation, and painting were top. And they kept the dust to the minimum. We could appreciate their craftsmanship on the details. We have our DREAM kitchen. My wife is extremely pleased, therefore so do I. Do yo need or want a new kitchen? Call Remodeling Concepts."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

What goes under your floating deck depends on your preferences. Some homeowners put landscaping fabric underneath their decks to prevent weeds from popping up through the boards. Others choose to build a floating deck over grass or gravel. However, it’s best not to set your deck directly on the ground. Instead, set your deck on blocks to keep it elevated enough to prevent moisture from rotting the wood.

Deck skirting shouldn’t touch the ground, especially if you have a wood deck, which is vulnerable to moisture. Ideally, you should leave at least 3/4 of an inch of space between the deck skirting and the ground for more ventilation. Pros also recommend that you incorporate about 1 square foot of space for ventilation for the underside of the deck to every 150 square feet of decking. Proper ventilation prevents mold growth and rot that can damage your deck.

Rot loves moisture, so deck rot typically impacts the parts of a board that stay wet. This includes the underside of boards, in addition to support posts and joists. However, any part of a board can rot, given the right conditions.

Yes, Ipe wood is a popular high-end choice for pool decking. It repels water and is naturally slip-resistant. It's not susceptible to mold, mildew, or rot, either, so it lasts longer and is cleaner and more hygienic than other popular decking materials. However, remember that due to its status, it is a very high-cost wood, and you might find that an alternative would serve you just as well for significantly less.

The life expectancy of deck boards varies widely based on the material, climate, and maintenance. Untreated wood boards typically last 10 to 30 years with proper care, while pressure-treated boards can last up to 50 years. Hardwoods generally outlast softwoods. Composite boards also tend to last longer than natural wood. Environmental factors like arid or humid climates can shorten a deck's lifespan. To extend the life of wood decking, it's important to consistently clean and seal it to protect against moisture, UV light, and insects.
