"Anton was easy to work with. Sent email on a Sunday. He called in five minutes and came that afternoon to look at the job. Replaced baseboard in four bedrooms and repaired a hole in the ceiling. All work was completed in two days starting that Monday. The carpenter that did the baseboards (I think his name is John) was great, neat and did a wonderful job. I will definately call Anton again. "Nixon provides great service in a timely manner. He and his crew were efficient, polite and respectful of the areas they worked in. They performed carpentry work that was excellent and quickly solved a roofing and sealing/painting issue for me. Nixon was responsive by phone and showed up when he said he was going to each time. His pricing was a bit on the high side and you get what you pay for. I will definitely be calling on Nixon and his crew again for future work."

"I interviewed a few people before making my decision using Rok and Iâ m glad I did. I did a complete gut renovation and he basically made my revision come to fruition. Even with the delayed/problems with renovations he always kept me informed. U told me he would always have someone at my house working and that he did. Not like the contractors Iâ ve worked with in the past that say that but then once they get the job.. the â oh someone would be thereâ and no one comes. I had a leak issue and he made it to my house 10 pm to assure it was taken of. Roc is reliable and hard working."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Modern brick houses are really stick-built homes with a brick facade for aesthetic purposes only, so most have framing. With genuine brick construction, most homeowners install furring strips over the interior of the brick and then install drywall over those strips to cover the brick wall, so they don’t have traditional framing.

The cost to convert a carport into a garage averages about $22,000, ranging from about $15,000 and $55,000. Additional cost factors to consider include size, time of year, and how much of the carport you can reuse. Other cost factors include the kinds and amounts of materials used, such as:

  • Add insulation: $1 per square foot

  • Add drywall: $1–$3 per square foot

  • Add window: $450–$2,000 per window

  • Add outlets: $75–$500

  • Add garage door: $250–$11,200

  • Enclose framing: $5–$13 per square foot

  • Replace roofing: $1,000–$2,000

Yes, you can hang picture frames, shelves, and other items on Trusscore panels. For lightweight items (less than 30 pounds), the company recommends using adhesive strips rather than nails or screws. However, you’ll need to secure heavier objects to a stud in the wall. In these situations, Trusscore recommends cutting away the panel material and fastening the object to the stud with metal hardware.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.

Yes, most services include necessary frame modifications for proper door fitting. Confirm with your provider.
