"Most happy with the company and the serviceman Jason. Our downstairs bathroom toilet became clogged late in the evening and I received a telephone call within minutes of posting my request for a plumber. Jason indicated that he was finishing another call in the area and would be at our house next. He called again about 15 minutes later as he arrived at our house. Jason immediately and efficiently cleared the blockage. We could not be happier with the service we received and are grateful for the speedy service - especially at such a relatively late hour."

"Two plumbers worked to replace a leaking toilet. I put an inquiry out on Angieâ s list and heard back within a few minutes. Was pleasantly surprised that they had completed a job and were able to fit me into their schedule. Both men were very courteous, showed me each step of the process so I understood the nature of the repair. Did excellent work, cleaned up after project was done. Would call Boss for future projects in a heartbeat!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, you’ll need to replace your toilet’s wax seal any time you move the toilet. This is because movement of the toilet will break the seal, rendering the remaining wax useless. Thankfully, replacing a wax seal is fairly easy, and the seal itself only costs $2 to $10 at most home improvement stores.

When replacing a wax seal you typically also have to replace the closet bolts that secure the toilet to the flange. These are usually about 2.5" - 3" long and have to be cut once the toilet is secure. Cutting them usually makes them too short to reuse.

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

The first step to clearing the air in a line is to locate the cause. This is usually a blockage in either the drain or the venting system. Once you clear the issue, flush the system by actually flushing the toilets repeatedly. This should allow the trapped air to escape, thus clearing the lines. Don’t be surprised if there is increased bubbling as the air makes its way through the system.

Whether or not a power-flush toilet is worth it depends on your toilet needs and your budget. If your bathroom sees a lot of use or you’re concerned about the toilet clogging, then a power-flush toilet may be the right choice. You should also check the pressure requirements to make sure your system can handle the necessary requirements.

Sometimes, your insurance policy may cover leaking toilet repair. However, home insurance policies typically do not cover any plumbing problems. They do cover water damage caused by a busted pipe or a major leak. Some insurance companies also have riders that expand your initial coverage to include plumbing items. Talk to your agent for more information.
