"VERY PROFESSIONAL- John has been our go to plumbing guy for years now. He has replaced kitchen faucets, moved the toilet in our half bath, replaced outdoor water spigots, replaced tankless water system and more. He and his team are dependable, honest and quick to respond!! John explains / shows what the issue was and what to do to prevent from happening again. I would recommend this company over and over again."

"The were friendly and open to our needs during initial call. Communicated their availability and timeframe. Showed up the same day. Plumber was very friendly and courteous. Discussed possible issues and costs prior to starting work. Didnâ t force additional work to make extra money. Fixed my clogged septic and got things back to normal. Will definitely be calling them with any further plumbing issues."

"Pacific Stone did a nice job. Person in charge of scheduling measurements and installation was pleasant and courteous. Within a few days of my inquiry they came out to my house to take measurements and they brought samples to choose from. Installation was done within a few weeks after that. Took away the old countertops and sinks. They know what they're doing. One of the installers was actually the owner and they were prompt and professional and cleaned up well."

"We hired Areti for a fairly substantial first floor remodel with a focus on the kitchen, and restoring a catwalk on the second floor. We greatly enjoyed working with the entire crew and appreciate their care and professionalism. Bill, Josh, and Isaac were also super accommodating of multiple delays to cabinet orders and things outside of their and our control. Very pleased with the results and experience."

"Bob did a total and complete reno of a two bedroom, one and a half bath condo. He did EVERYTHING, exactly as requested by the owner. This website only allowed me to pick one project for the subject, but he did EVERYTHING. Ceiling demo and replacement, pergo throughout, wall repairs, electric, plumbing, tile, trim carpentry (his specialty), all new bathrooms that had been demo’d to the studs. EVERYTHING. The new owner was thrilled and I was proud to sell it in the condition Bob brought it to. It sparkled when he was done."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Most toilets weigh between 50 and 100 pounds, depending on the material, size, and style. Some toilets can be disassembled into multiple pieces, which can make them easier to carry and dispose of. If you’re concerned that a toilet is too heavy to remove and lift on your own, enlist help or use a dolly to support the weight rather than carrying it yourself.

While you might think that phantom flushes are simply eerie, they are bad for your toilet (and wallet). These flushes indicate a leak somewhere in the toilet system that needs repairing. These leaks can cause damage to your walls, flooring, and even your plumbing system. While one random flush every now and then might not seem like a big deal, leaving it unattended can lead to bigger problems.

You definitely can over-tighten toilet tank bolts. Unlike some other materials, porcelain can’t bend or flex, so when you over-tighten a screw into it, it could break against the added pressure. Only tighten them as much as needed to keep them in place and firm; any more and you could risk breaking the porcelain.

The cost to install a new toilet typically runs from $225 to $530. This doesn’t include the price of the toilet itself, which can cost $90 to $1,500 depending on the model and features you choose. You can save money if you choose to install a toilet yourself. However, you might want to hire a pro for this project.

"Due to the many complexities of replacing a toilet flange, it is typically a job best left to the pros," says Jeff Botelho, Angi Expert Review Board member and plumber. "Many times it isn't as simple and straightforward as 'pop off the old one and pop on a new one' because the flange is either glued on (PVC/ABS), soldered on (brass/copper), or caulked in place with a lead & oakum joint (cast iron) and none of these things can be easily reversed without years of training and repetitive practice."

The most practical and common setup is a toilet that connects with the sewer line or a septic tank. However, it is possible to install a toilet without a sewer line, and this can be particularly helpful in basements with no or outdated plumbing. An increasingly popular option is an environmentally friendly composting toilet. Other waterless options include incinerating or dry flush toilets, which pull the waste into an airtight container.
