"I have used Structureline few time in the past It all begins with a bathroom Remodeling when I used to live in Jersey City... I Hired them Based on recommendations and good reviews... The story was that at that time 2009 I couldn't find a good Licensed Contractor to get the management  board approval in my building, because of the high requirements.. And my sister Gina give me the contact information of Structureline as certified contractor.. After they pass the board they did the bathroom remodeling and I was very happy with their results... After I moved to Brooklyn my husband said that would be nice to hire a contractor  to do a extension to the house.. After we received several bids from different contractors even that the price was a little higher we decided to go with Structureline because we already knew their work.. Nicolas advised us to build a second floor instead of the back extension and we thought that is a brilliant idea and went for it...
To tell the truth the construction took longer then we expected .....a lot of paperwork, inspections for framing , plumbing  we did received a violation because we haven't  used the scaffolding  properly weather conditions etc...
But we know that Nicolas did the best to finished and we do appreciate that... My husband was very happy wen the construction was completed, a lot of closets room, master bathroom, Large windows , big living room and huge living room...
I really liked bout their renovations that the walls a straight and smooth like glass, defiantly is recommended to see ....

"The town required structural drawings for the retaining wall around my pool and after speaking with and getting estimates from several Structural Engineering companies choose Magnus Engineering. The company was responsive and willing to provide the service quickly. James Strizki was the engineer; he was professional, patient and reassuring. He continued to follow-up even after receiving payment until I had the final inspection. They were reasonably priced and delivered the required signed sealed documents allowing me to finally close out the permits that were pending from the year before."

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

The depth of any foundation style depends on your climate and how deep the frost line is, as building code requires that the footers of a foundation—which are built into a monolithic slab—sit at least a foot below the frost line. At the southern tip of Florida, for example, a monolithic slab foundation would only need to sit 12 inches under the soil at the widest parts. On some parts of the Canadian border, the frost line is 100 inches, which would mean a minimum of 112 inches, which is prohibitively deep for a monolithic slab.

Yes, an LVL beam is more affordable than the cost of a steel I-beam, totaling between $50 and $200 per linear foot as opposed to the $100 to $400 per linear foot you’d pay for a steel I-beam. Not only is the wood material more affordable than steel, but it’s also more similar to traditional wooden beams and doesn’t require as much retrofitting to connect joists.

The essential difference between an architect and an engineer is that architects typically focus more on the aesthetic design of buildings, although not without consideration for the structural integrity of the building. Engineers focus more on the structural, technical, and practical aspects of whether and how an architectural design can be built as drawn. You may need to hire both types of professionals if you’re designing and building a new home.

According to the Earthquake Country Alliance—a public and private alliance in California that works to improve earthquake and tsunami readiness—reports that unreinforced masonry, such as stone, bricks, and hollow clay tiles, is more susceptible to earthquake damage. The mortar between bricks isn’t as stable as other building materials and methods.
