"I was once told by a master stair builder that if you want to evaluate a general contractors work, look in the dumpster at the job site for an excessive amount of used caulk tubes indicating that they are covering up mistakes. Recently we completed a very challenging project that required the excavation under our old seasonal home in conjunction with a significant 2-story addition. After interviewing three reputable and recommended contractors, we decided to work with Dave Nessel, owner of Unique Construction. Dave presented a clear concise estimate of the scope for the work proposed, the costs we should expect and a timeframe for completion; all proved to be very accurate. He and his team of true artisans obviously enjoyed their work. Laughter and music would usually overshadow the sound of the power tools that were working in synchrony. The exceptional fit and finish in a clean and neat environment were easily appreciated. Dave is truly a meticulous visionary. During the project, he was never shy about recommending esthetic modifications which deviated from the architects drawings. Whether these change orders originated from him or us, they were never with exorbitant fees, but were billed for time and materials used. The final result far exceeded our expectations. "I hired Remodeling Concepts based on a recommendation. Right from the start Derek was very responsive and once at my home he was full of ideas and suggestions to help us with our remodel. I brought in 3 contractors before hiring RC. The estimates were all around the same amount and Derek was right in line with his prices but he offered a lot more than anyone else I spoke to. Throughout the remodel, the entire staff were professional and friendly. I actually got to the point that I felt that the guys had become family...my dogs even liked them! Derek and his staff were always available when I needed them and anytime I made changes to the project Derek took it in stride and worked with me to make sure I was happy. One of the things that really made me happy when dealing with Derek is that when he would come to the house on a day that he wasn’t on site, he would review the work done and at times would find something that he deemed unacceptable that my wife and I didn’t even notice and would have the work redone to make sure it was perfect. This was a huge project that I was very nervous about and Derek and his staff made sure things went smoothly and I couldn’t be happier with the results. We did everything from new siding and a new roof, to a full kitchen remodel, new laundry room, new covered deck, and central air among other things. The biggest indicator of how happy I am with the work done is that I recently contacted Derek to do more work for me!"

"This review is for experience of getting quote only - Pros: - Responsive by text and accessible by email - A - Reasonable pricing for some work, though was able to accommodate overall budget (~15K) - C Cons: - Attitude: came off as dismissive towards "small" projects (15K), lacking professionalism - D - May not be best option if looking for design ideas or services beyond just paying for labor Got quotes from Quality Renovations on two separate occasions. Both times, the liaison was responsive via email and phone/text. However, ended up not going with them due to 1) lack of follow up the first time and 2) poor attitude the second time. Quotes provided were reasonable for the most part (may not be the best price you are going to get piecemeal, but able to stay within a reasonable budget), so could be right contractor if you have a job where you are just looking for someone to do the work. Not your best options if you are also looking for suggestions for design ideas/suggestions or beyond bare bones service (attitude was dismissive toward 'small projects'). While renovations in general can be a painful process, and level of customer service varies widely, no one appreciate poor attitude especially when customer was very reasonable and accommodating in requests throughout the process."
