"After hurricane sandy in 2012 a lot of people in Brooklyn and  Long Island got flooded a lot of home owners received flood damages or  lost their property due to Hurricane Sandy... I am living on Cony Island Seagate  area at that time I was home with my Family and how a remember the water came up to my house and flooded my basement and first floor of my house... I was very scared and desperate.... We basically lost everything at the first and basement floor...
We have received some help from FEMA like every homeowner in that area  but the rest was huge loss from our pockets...
We found structureline based on recommendations and we started to do renovation...Nicholas the General Manager helped us out to apply for a small loan so we could begin the  renovation...We needed to do a complete  house renovation ....
They took off the walls  in the basement and 1st floor, they did mold disinfection, replaced all drywall's, wiring, boiler, windows, doors, siding etc..
They did remodeling on the master bathroom from the first floor and kitchen, they did a wonderful job...We love their new engineered Hardwood floor and the new design of the bathroom with the big bathtub and shower cabinet ... The price we spend ed was a little higher than we were   expected because we did some design work in the living room and Kitchen but for sure it worth it....If Someone will ask me for a recommendation for sure I will recommend Structureline because they helped me out at that time ....Thanks"

"Foundation Experts determined the problem was much greater than current homeowner thought. They brought in a structural engineer to thoroughly examine the foundation and wrote up a detailed report, including extensive photographs, of the problem. They gave a written proposal for potential work to repair the problem according to township code. All of their work (three separate visits plus three detailed reports) was done in an astonishingly compressed time period, which enabled us to meet our required deadline to attempt to continue with purchase of the house, depending on current homeowners willingness to either repair the issues to our satisfaction or give us a purchase credit of the amount proposed by Foundation Experts. Had we not engaged their help, we could have unknowingly bought a house that needs approximately $40,000 worth of structural repair.

"I had a great experience planning the design of my second story addition!! The architect was great at capturing my needs and vision and provided me with suggestions to maximize the space and make it functional. Her suggestions were modern and gave the space a clean cut feel while making it cozy and inviting. She also modified a few things upon request to ensure I stuck to budget without losing my vision for the space. The whole process was explained from beginning to end with timelines and things to expect. I would totally recommend!!!"

"Mike, the owner of the firm, showed up on Saturday morning immediately after I placed a request to the Angie's list. He reassured he would do a study of the structural design of the railing (steel cable) and send me the confirmation on the very next business day. A very professional and friendly person with a reasonable rate. I highly recommend his service for those of you who could not find a civil engineer when the scope of the job is too small that most big firms are not interested. The entire process has been very pleasant and stress-free."

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

Completing structural engineering projects in Southfields enhances comfort by stabilizing your foundation, reducing drafts, and controlling moisture intrusion. These improvements help maintain consistent indoor temperatures, prevent mold growth, and safeguard against seasonal soil movement. Upgrades also protect your home’s value, minimize the risk of future structural issues, and provide peace of mind during harsh winters or periods of heavy precipitation.

Helpful?

In Southfields, consider how freeze-thaw cycles, heavy snowfall, and varying bedrock depths may impact your structural plans. Some properties require special foundation solutions due to flood zones or challenging soil. Access for large equipment can be restricted, and septic systems may influence your project’s design. Be mindful of potential historic or environmental regulations, as well as seasonal demand for qualified professionals in the area.

Helpful?

For homes in Southfields, it’s helpful to keep a digital level for checking floor sloping, a crack monitoring gauge, a moisture meter for detecting basement dampness, and a bright flashlight for inspections. Temporary support posts and a sturdy hydraulic jack can address urgent issues. Stock concrete crack filler suitable for cold climates, waterproof sealant, and a dehumidifier to manage indoor humidity, along with a camera for ongoing documentation.

Helpful?

In Southfields, start by carefully documenting any visible cracks, bowing walls, or uneven floors with dated photos and notes. Monitor these areas for changes, especially after heavy rain or during freeze-thaw cycles. If you notice minor sagging, you can use temporary supports, but avoid making permanent repairs. If cracks widen or you detect new movement, contact a structural engineer promptly for assessment.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Southfields often underestimate the time required to obtain permits and the complexity of meeting local building codes. Seasonal weather, especially winter freezes, can delay concrete work and inspections. Soil testing and drainage planning are frequently overlooked but critical for long-term stability. Limited contractor availability and rural logistics can further extend project timelines, making early planning essential for success.
