Mateo built a 1 room 150 sf addition that resulted in a leaky foundation with water and mold inside. There were 6+ gaps/holes in the CMU walljoints that were 2”- 3+” deep where water easily penetrated. Also his tape and sheet rocking has cracked/gapped on all walls and the vaulted ceiling. The worst part was Mateo refused to stand behind his work and I had to get another contractor to remedy his work.

I own a historic home that was recently condemned due to a small fire. In a panic, we got involved with a “fire engine chasing” renovation company. In the first couple of days/weeks, they exhausted almost a third of our coverage with no detectible effect. Once we ended our relationship with the first company, we hired Credence “to the rescue”. Credence not only repaired the fire damage, but they also emptied and refreshed every room, closet, and hall in the entire building. Credence worked closely with the insurance company, local government, and the building inspector to clean up compliance issues, get the utilities turned back on, and re-issue our C of O. If you’re planning to build a new home or renovate an old home…call Credence first!

Credence Development built an amazing screen porch for us this past summer. From the start of the design, planning, and permitting phase, I was very comfortable working with them. Ed had a great deal of insight into what I was looking to build, and it was clear right away that they have done this before, and were quite familiar with the building codes, and correct way to build a structure. During the construction phase, Ryan handled all of the day-to-day design alterations, and clearly was thinking a few steps ahead while constructing, and had some innovative ideas on some needed redesigns. We will definitely call them again for future projects.

Credence completely remodeled my bathroom with the utmost professionalism and quality. They are extremely meticulous with their work and maintained a very high level of cleanliness and thoroughness. Every step of the process was explained and they solicited input from us for those areas where we were able to provided input on esthetics and placement of the various components. If you are looking for value and extreme professionalism for a remodeling project, I would highly recommend Credence.

Lets face it, trying to find a good contractor sometimes is not an easy task. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of the bathroom/ walk-in closet addition to my home. The overall craftsmanship was excellent, even during the building out during the structural phase, taking additional steps in making sure there would be no issues down the road. Great communication, everything ran smoothly with no issues throughout the project, and always stayed ahead of the game! I would recommend Credence Development, and hope to work with them again later this year. Kevin H.

They guided us thru every step of the way from design, to selecting of materials and custom made windows, and providing alternatives so that we could stay within our budget. I had complete trust and confidence through out the project and would recommend anyone looking to build their dream idea to give them a call.

Credence Development was the only contractor that not only got back to me when I left a message, but actually showed up to give us an estimate. Many of the contractors (some on Angie's List and some not) never even called me back. Everyone was very professional and nice and extremely easy to deal with. Pat was very helpful in recommending the best place to look for tile, fixtures, etc. We were always updated on what was going on and when they would be arriving at the house to work. The job took a little longer than expected to complete, but we were very happy with the end result!!

Everyone at Credence Development (particularly the Owners, Pat and Ed Mateo) was very patient, reasonable, and extremely knowledgeable.  We are new home-owners and were not anticipating the expense of repairing a leaking shower stall so soon.  They provided guidance to help us stay close to budget and answered all of our questions (we had a LOT of questions), providing recommendations from past experience (even recommendations outside of the job they were doing).  They were very honest, raised concerns and corrected problems as the job went on.  We are pleased with the quality of their work.

The project went very well. Ed and his team are very polite, professional and fair. This was a bare exposed foundation basement. Credence finished the walls with drywall, installed drop ceiling, added heating, electric and lighting, and created an office. They had to open the foundation to add an egress window, which turned out very nice. All the work was done professionally and to building code. I did deviate from spec during the project and Ed was very understanding and fair during these changes. I would definitely use Credence again for other projects.

From the girl who took our call to the contractor who came to the house, everyone we dealt with was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We recieved the appraisal promptly. We made a decision to hold off on the reno at this time but will not hesitate to call Credence Development when we decide to go ahead.

Ed Mateo and his son Ryan installed a 14KW Generac standby emergency generator at our home in Warwick N.Y. They poured a concrete pad, set the generator, ran the propane gas line and tied in all all the electric. I had gotten several prices prior to selecting Credence. Ed was not only a Generac authorized dealer but also a licensed electrician and licensed plumber. The other contractors were electricians who wanted me to get a plumber to tie in the propane. Ed and Ryan did it all. They're professional, do nice, neat work, and are conscious of keeping costs down. Credence does all types of construction, not just generators, and I will use them down the road.

Clean and meticulous work! They did a wonderful job on my bathroom. New tile floor as well as subway tiles around the tub. Their tile work is superb. Additionally they installed a new tub, added/moved electrical work and hung a new ceiling as well as light fixtures. They took extra effort to keep the house as clean as possible and took their time making sure everything was done right and to my liking.

I plan to use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.

I hired Credence to finish my basement. It was bare bones and I needed a family room with decent flooring, walls and lighting. They did a fantastic job. They had done a bathroom remodle for me and based on that experience I called them again for my basement work.

They showed up ready to work!. Ed and his son Ryan came to the house and set up to start working. They were nice enough to meet my dogs and get to know them before they started working. That helped calm my dogs down and made the whole experience much easier. They then ripped the bathroom apart and repaired the damaged flooring. They continued putting all the proper insulation wonder board, then tiled the bathroom. They then installed the new lighting and fixed the exhaust fan issues. After they painted they installed the shower, toilet, sink and fixed the plumbing issues. Before they completed the job they touched up all the paint and resealed everything. They were always very nice and helpful. They never did anything design wise without asking my wife or myself first. My wife and are were extremely happy with the way the bathroom came out.

We wanted to put in a new kitchen. Very worried about getting a trustworthy and competent contractor. A couple of our friends had recently had similar work done (thank goodness ) and we got the name Credence Builders from them with both giving 2 'thumbs up'! Well, now we want got give them 2 thumbs up ourselves. We were impressed from beginning to end with their great attitude and very professional approach to the work. They handled it all from tearing down to the finishing touches. We were especially impressed with the electrical work they did for us. Upgrading the electrical circuits and bringing it all up to code.  We highly recommend credence Builders.
