"Miguel and his crew did an excellent job. Miguel reviewed what we requested before starting work and made several suggestions. They pruned and trimmed several large trees. I was surprised by the amount of large branches and debris. When they were done there was nothing left on the lawn. I would highly recommend Miguel Tree Service."

"I had an excellent experience with this tree service company. They were professional, punctual, and extremely knowledgeable from start to finish. The crew worked efficiently, safely removed the trees, and left my property spotless when the job was complete. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction really stood out. The pricing was fair, communication was great, and the quality of work exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and professional tree services. "While we were happy with the completed work, we really wish Steve was available more to do the work in the mornings instead of afternoons. It was hard to nail down times with him but to be fair, it also snowed 3 of the 6 weeks he was working on our staircase. His prices were quite reasonable compared to others we interviewed. He even offered a reduced fee when the work became more extensive and stretched into additional weeks."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Yes, cutting a tree's roots can cause it to fall, particularly if major support roots are severed. In extreme cases, trimming roots can affect the tree's structure and stability. Many crucial roots are located just below the soil's surface. If you make severe cuts to roots more than 2 inches in diameter, you risk impacting the tree's water flow and its ability to withstand severe winds or storms. Even cutting roots less than half an inch in diameter under or outside the tree's canopy can cut off its water supply, causing it to decline, die, and eventually topple.

Some people prefer to leave or even carve a leftover stump, but we recommend removing it if possible. You can often dig out smaller trunks with a shovel once they have died and dried out. You can have stumps professionally removed, or request a service to grind them down to ground level so they can be replaced with other landscaping or objects.

There are a few differences between tree guying and tree staking. Tree guying requires anchor stakes that are shorter and stronger than regular stakes and are driven deeper into the ground at an angle away from the tree. Tree staking uses longer stakes that are set parallel to the tree and are used for smaller trees. Consult a local tree professional to determine which method is best for your tree.

If your palm tree has spots on the leaves, rotting buds, or is beginning to turn yellow, then you have a sick tree on your hands. You should contact a palm tree specialist to identify the problem and help treat the tree if possible. Preventing diseases and pests is key to a healthy palm tree, and it's essential to take action as soon as possible if your tree is showing signs of being sick.

Generally, no, tree topping isn’t a good technique, and you should avoid using it in most cases. Tree topping may be the only good option to save a tree following severe damage after a storm, but in most other cases, it’s not the right choice. Tree topping can leave trees vulnerable to disease and further damage, and most pros will suggest against it.
