Impact windows are absolutely worth the money if you live in an area prone to hurricanes. You can add any type of window to a brick house, so long as the window has proper support. Vinyl windows should last 15 to 20 years or more, depending on your climate and environment. If your windows face harsh sunlight for long periods of time, the vinyl will break down faster, meaning you’ll have to replace them sooner. A shadier, cooler environment means they can potentially last for much longer.
