"We hired Valleyview Masonry to replace 42 feet of a basement wall. We had to have them come back and fix the cracks between the blocks, they had to fix the French drain because they had it blocked off with concrete. Now after paying them $14,000 we are having problems with the drainage they put in! We have spoke to Gideon numerous times about this issue and they still have not come to fix it and not even a call back! I would not refer them to anybody! They have terrible customer service!!!!!!"

Especially for larger projects, it’s usually a good idea to hire a professional concrete delivery company when it comes to installing concrete surfaces even though it will undoubtedly cost more to hire a pro to do the work for you.

Use a dehumidifier for indoor concrete and a wet vacuum for outdoor surfaces. Sprinkle absorbent materials like sawdust or cat litter to soak up the remaining moisture. If the concrete is outside, simply wait for a few hot, dry days. If the concrete is inside, make sure you have good ventilation for a few days so that any remaining moisture can completely dry out.

A 4-inch-thick concrete slab can support around 4,000 pounds per square foot if a contractor reinforces the slab with rebar, while that same slab without reinforcements will support closer to 1,000 pounds. You'll also want to make sure you install rebar for patios that need to support a lot of weight like this.
