"We contacted Matt to demolish a very old deck and build a new Trex composite deck, stairs and railing. The entire base support structure of the old deck needed to be replaced, including attachment points to the home that were rotted due to poor design and flashing of the prior deck. When looking for a contractor we researched many options. We eliminated contractors who seemed to only occasionally build a deck, those who had a different primary focus area, and those who did not often do composite decking. Communication was excellent from the initial quote through completion of the project. The quality of the work and attention to detail was excellent. "We decided to replace the tired carpet in our condo. United Carpet was our second stop in search of solid vinyl wood plank flooring. We were fortunate to meet Art McLeod, who showed us a vast array of options, We settled on Karndeen and found one we though would go well next to the existing parquet wood flooring in the rest of the condo. He urged us to take a sample home, and we were glad he did, for our sense of the color match was way off. When we returned he shows us what he thought would work. He "right" sold us, (others had tried to get us to take a more expensive product than we needed or wanted) offering us a product a bit less expensive than what we picked, but he assured us it was of equal quality and better for our application, over a concrete floor (we live an a converted 1903 schoolhouse). His selection was right on the money. He kept us apprised of the order and delivery dates and set up an install date based on our availability. His install crew, Jim and Bob arrived on time, calling ahead. Unfortunately they discovered the concrete under the carpet had heaves and cracks and would require leveling. They were craftsmen and did the job carefully and completely. A one day install dragging into four days, but we didn't mind, because we knew the job would be done well and right. They went out of their way to accommodate us in timing of arrival, and always kept us apprised of any need for them to briefly engage in a repair or other activity. They were not going to leave until the job was done perfectly, and they held to that promise. They were pleasant, respectful, and a pleasure to have in our home. We are thrilled with the product, with the installation and our entire experience with United Carpet has been excellent. We cannot recommend them highly enough."

"I hired Ben and Brian to build a sizable addition to my house(extend kitchen, laundry powder room, add bedroom, bathroom, mud room). I encountered multitude of issues while working with them. Note: they have very good attorney that is Brian's relative. Here are some of the facts: 1. Project completion took 11 months instead of promised 5. 2. Improper framing modification caused walls on the second floor to shift. Door openings became distorted and cracks in the corners appeared 3. Water is leaking between the walls and newly installed gutters. 4. Newly installed hardwood floors (3/4 sick Brazilian Cherry) are squeaking and moving in many spots. One piece is completely loose (no nails at all). 5. They refused to install shower doors despite drawing clearly showing them. I have a $3000 estimate of the to fix put walls per drawing and hang the doors. 6. A/C ducts were sized improperly."
