installation and was informed that someone else does that so i called the store and spoke to my sales rep SCOTT which after purchase took a whole new attitude with me and said that wasn't included however in their matching policy if another competitor offers it they will match it. I called the corporate office (in the mean time I had my cousin who owns Don's repair service install it for me) and asked to speak to the corporate head. I connected to NICK, I spoke to him and he agreed that it was to be installed however it was already done and he apologized for the mix up. If I ever needed any help he told me feel free to call him (another joke) Now here is where the real fun begins My Frigidaire refrigerator had icicles hanging in the freezer so I called for service well they sent another company out to repair the problem we will call this visit one the tech said oh there is a gap in the casing I need to order silicon filler to repair it (well I'm not a repairman however that seemed a bit lame to have to order it, you would think they would carry that on their truck. Now visit number 2 he filled the so called gap and said problem solved. Guess again icicles only larger and more of them, called them back and told them the problem is worse. Visit number 3 it was the seal and to check it he used a highly technical tool to determine this a dollar bill, the dollar would move as he pulled it out so the seal is bad (by the way I have the same refrigerator in white in my garage only older before Electrolux purchased Frigidaire. Well I performed the same technical test on the one in the garage surprise same thing happened). Visit number 4 replaced the seal by this time I did some examining of the refrigerator and could feel gaps in the insulation however it isn't my job to fix it. Dave said thats it you wont have any more problems I replied see you next week and he said are you doubting my work I said no but thats not the problem. So the next day Large Icicles hanging called service again did I mention this is Frigidaire's policy so brings us to visit 5 he decides needs a new door at this point the service calls and parts are more than I payed for the Refrigerator. Brings us to visit number 6 I finally spoke up and said that if you notice there are gaps in the isolation he then replies your right lets just order you a new replacement. Ta-Da finally it is now September and I purchased in April. The new Refrigerator arrived last week guess what was waiting for me in the morning ICICLES I called Orvilles and told them enough is enough I want a different unit Rick from service agreed to exchanging to a different Refrigerator my wife and went in the Sales Rep Scott tells me he knows nothing about this and had to make a few calls well he found out I was told this and they would only give a credit less than I paid( you would think that they would at least give you your amount for the price you paid). I Called the Corporate office (716.601.0610) to speak to Nick got voicemail left a message explaining the situation and to please call me waited 4 days with no response. So called today and ask to speak with good ole Nick was told he is in a meeting same as last time so I asked his assistant to please hand deliver a note to him to call me with her attitude you would have thought I asked her to run a mile. Well received a call from Jeff stating he is calling on Rick's behalf, so I was told by him that they are not replacing it they are going to send a service tech out that it is their policy. I said that Rick and Scott said they would replace it he then said let me research it and I will call you back. The phone ring a half hour later and it's a woman don't know her name but no replacing servicing again. So a little advice Beware of Orvilles and if you decide to buy from them shop and make them price match then take that to a competitor that price matches and then take it back to Orvilles do that a couple times and you do get a good deal my 1,000 stove ended up being 536 dollars same for the refrigerator the dishwasher was 900 down to 350 and the 500 dollar microwave was 200 it pays to shop however service and professionalism is lacking big time and that is something I hold very high with a company and Orvilles lacks it big time. Get them to a price you like then go to a local competitor and purchase your appliance(s) don't give them your business sorry so long but it's not over I have to start the process all over again and Frigidaire is not very helpful either. If you are looking for appliance don't go there first sticker shock alone will get you however the one thing they do have is their matching policy however they match the price they don't beat it as they advertise my next recourse is the Attorney General for faults representation. Once in their shop, we assumed that they would inspect and access the necessary work to repair the appliances. They just started working on them without providing any time or cost estimate or even to tell us what was wrong. After about a week, I was told that the 2-drawer refrigerator was repaired but they were still working on the ice maker. I had asked if they could at least deliver the refrigerator and was told that they can not (or would not) deliver them separately. As months went on, I would call with regular frequency to find out the status only to be told that someone would call me back later. Of the two dozen times I called over the almost 6 months they had the appliances, only 2 phone calls were ever returned. Eventually, I called one Friday at 4:30 p.m. and got an answering machine telling me that they were closed and their hours were Monday through Friday, 8-5. I left a scathing message saying that I was fed up with the lack of returned phone calls and information and insisted that someone call me back the following Monday. As expected, Monday came and went without a phone call. Finally on Tuesday, someone called me to tell me that they appliances were fixed and ready to be installed and that someone would call me Wednesday or Thursday to set up a time to install them as well as give me a cost. As expected, no phone call was ever received. We didn't know when they were going to arrive on Friday as they never called to let us know and after re-installing all the appliances, demanded to be paid on the spot for an amount we had no idea what was going to be. Luckily we had the money to do so, but if you don't happen to have a spare couple thousand dollars in your account when they show up, you might be in trouble. Absolutely horrible experience and torture to deal with."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ny/hudson/ackermans-appliance-reviews-2192563.htm"},"position":9},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"John's Hardwood Floors","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"NY","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"JERRY T."},"reviewBody":"John called me before I got off the computer. FAQs for lawn tool repair projects in Newfane, NY
Lawn mower repairs typically range from $40 to $90, with most people spending right around $60. However, your final total will depend on the type of lawn mower you have, the repair needed, and part availability.
Lawnmowers require seasonal maintenance to continue working correctly. With routine maintenance, you can extend its life to the fullest, which is around 10 years for push mowers and 5-8 years for riding mowers. To keep your lawn mower working correctly, you’ll want to take the following steps at least once a year:
Replace the spark plug
Change the oil
Drain the fuel tank
Clean the mowing deck (ideally, after every mow)
Replace the air filter
Check the carburetor
Sharpen the blades
Fog the engine
Check the tires
Before your lawn mower quits working entirely, it’ll likely give you some signs of wear and tear that indicate a repair is needed. Signs that you might need repairs to your lawn mower include:
Oil leaks
Vibrating engine
Smoking exhaust
Increase in time to mow
Unusual noises
Increase in gas consumption
If you are a skilled DIYer with experience, you can do certain lawn mower repairs yourself. However, if you’ve never worked on a lawn mower before or if your mower needs extensive repairs, it’s best to let a skilled lawn mower technician work on your machine. While it might be a little more expensive due to the cost of labor, nothing beats knowing that the job was done successfully (and often with warranties).
In many cases, it might be cheaper to repair your lawn mower than to replace it, depending on what needs to be repaired. The cost to replace a lawn mower dramatically varies, from $60 for basic models to over $15,000 for the top-of-the line models.
Small repairs like a spark plug replacement can be as little as $20, so replacing the whole lawn mower wouldn’t make much sense. However, repairing a crankshaft could be much more expensive at $500 to $900, so depending on the age of your mower, it might be best to replace it. It’s best to speak with your lawn mower repair technician to determine which option is best for you.
