"We hired Shane and crew to remove two VERY large oaks (over 50') in a tough spot--very near our neighbor's house. They were on time and despite rain, got them down and out in a day and a half, They cleaned up our property and our neighbor's driveway beautifully! Much respect to this profession--a dangerous job for sure but they adhered to safety measures and consideration for our property and everything around them, I would recommend this company to everyone."

"I can't say enough positive things about this group. They were punctual, professional, and showed great attention to detail. And they offered very competitive pricing to boot! They worked all day on my yard, eliminating and removing 2 large oak trees, an extremely tall hickory tree, 9 pine trees, and a "widow-maker" deciduous tree in 100 degree heat. My kids and I tried to bring them food, drinks, chairs, etc... , but we had to be EXTREMELY forceful for them to accept our offering. I'm very tight-fisted with money, but I opted to tip over $400 because of my appreciation and respect for the work they performed."

"I have a very large Japanese Maple tree which is very dear to me. I hired Lemus to trim it as well as a very large Maple. While they were here, I decided to also remove a diseased Hemlock Tree. All 3 trees were meticulously worked on. Their professionalism was outstanding and they did a great job on all of them. The price was also reasonable and the crew showed up on time. Cleanup was also done satisfactorily. I highly recommend Lemus Tree Service and More."

Small jobs welcome

"Here's a polished review you can post on Angi: I highly recommend Rafael for any house work, construction etc. He installed a French drain at my property, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Rafael was honest, reliable, professional, and trustworthy throughout the entire process. He explained everything clearly, showed up when promised, and completed the job with great attention to detail. It's hard to find contractors who are both skilled and dependable, and Rafael exceeded my expectations. I would not hesitate to hire him again and would gladly recommend him to family and friends."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

How often and long you should water a tree depends on the species and if it is mature or newly planted. The amount of water is also based on the tree's size. A good rule of thumb is approximately 5 gallons per inch of the trunk's diameter.

Adjusting watering to the recommended suggestions for the tree type and weather conditions is vital. For instance, watering trees during a drought is necessary, and you may need to water more frequently than usual.

It’s not always easy to tell when a tree is dying, although signs like dropping branches and brittle bark can sometimes offer clues. It can also be difficult to know whether a tree is dead or dormant, especially if it’s a deciduous tree. You’ll want to wait until a growth season to get a good idea of a tree’s health. When in doubt, contact an arborist for a consultation.

No, you cannot plant a tree above a gas line. Tree roots grow and spread over time and can sometimes dent, crack, or penetrate a gas line. Those same roots may also cause accessibility problems for maintenance or repairs. You can generally plant vegetation with non-invasive root systems, low-growing vegetation, and flower beds near gas lines.

We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.

After a big storm, you may not be sure if a tree was struck or not. Look for the telltale long scars, like strips or gouges in the bark of the tree, running in sometimes jagged lines down the length of the trunk. These scars will often show vulnerable living wood inside the tree. It’s also common to see scorched or wilted leaves on the side or top of the tree where lightning struck.
