"We have lived in our home for over 50 years. Oscar and his crew were the best landscaping crew that we have ever hired, They were super fast on our property of clearing the accumulated fall leaves from our giant oak trees. They have the equipment that enables them to do this in half the time of other companies. They also cleared our gutters, Oscar was terrific. We had used a company to remove a wasp nest high up on the side of our house between 3 flood lamps. It was done but the remaining wasp nest was a mess and 4 calls to the company to speak to the owner remained unreturned. Oscar cheerfully properly cleaned it out for us. I am too old to go up on a ladder that high. I really appreciated that, Please use Oscar's company. You won't be disappointed. He is a considerate gentleman."

"Had a backup a few days before and wanted to determine if it was a simple clog or cesspool related. They sent out a tech (Jimmy) the same day. He located both cesspools and walked me through my options. He was honest and patient, answering all my questions along the way."

"Carlos did an amazing job! He was quick and efficient. Came home from work and my house was lit up. All colored smart bulbs, soffits work with an app, up lights work with a remote. We will definitely be working with them on future projects."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

The cost to plant a small tree or sapling is between $100 and $300 on average, if you hire a professional. Big trees will cost more and usually require the work of a specialist, so expect to pay over $1,000 for those.

It is possible to DIY complete hardscaping projects, but in most cases, hiring a professional is best to get the job done correctly. Hardscaping—including installing patios, decks, retaining walls, walkways, and water features—is challenging and time-consuming, so the money you spend on a professional is typically worth it. Not only will the quality be better, but you could avoid problems that come along with a lack of hardscaping experience, like drainage issues that can lead to costly foundation damage and leaks in your home.

Most experts recommend a quarter-inch layer of compost for best results, and you will need about .77 cubic yards of material per 1,000 square feet. To measure how much compost to use, take the square footage of your yard and multiply it by .77, then divide that number by 1,000.

Yes, you can absolutely transplant bushes instead of removing them completely. The success depends on the size of the bushes, their age, and the transplanting season. Ideally, transplant during the dormant season (late fall or winter). Dig out the entire root system in one piece, fill the new hole with fresh soil and mulch, and water thoroughly after planting.

Unless it only rains once in a blue moon where you live, you’re going to want water-loving plants in your garden bed or pot. A few ideas for plants that aren’t super fast-growing (meaning they’re good in pots or near foundations) and can handle a lot of standing water include:

  • Acorus (Sweet flag)

  • Colocasia esculenta (Taro or elephant ear): In many climates, these are annuals, making them less desirable because you need to adjust the chain again after each replant.

  • Equisetum scirpoides (Dwarf horsetail rush): non-dwarf varieties of horsetail are fast growers and can take over quickly.

  • Juncus effusus (Curly rush)

  • Osmunda regalis (Royal fern): Royal fern can grow quickly but can also handle being crowded, making them good container plants.
