"It was great working with Angi. I had 4 estimates and I decided to go with Genius Pro. I needed a skylight repair cause it was leaking into my kitchen. Mike from Genius Pro came on time , climbed on the roof and explained to me what needed to be done. He was very easy to talk to and explained the repair in detail and he was willing to start right away. After talking to my wife we decided to go through with the repair and we could not be Happier. The repair was done in one day and its been raining for several days and I can say that the leak is fixed and the roof looks great. Thanks Genius Pro. I will recommend you to all my friend sand family."

"I couldn't be happier with the service from Jersey Construction Experts. They completed a full roof inspection and replaced several damaged shingles with high-quality materials. Their communication and attention to detail were exceptional. If you're searching for residential roofing services in NJ or the best roofing company in New Jersey, they deserve five stars."

Skylights questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can add blinds or shades to both roof windows and skylights, but roof windows tend to have more options available. Retractable skylight shades are popular on both options for added privacy, light control, and heat reduction, although they’re more expensive than manually-operated blinds or shades. If you have a roof window or skylight set in a high ceiling, a motorized or solar-powered skylight window covering is probably your best bet.

Pros of installing a skylight include the fact that you will get much more natural light in your home, skylights can make your room look bigger than it actually is, and your home may increase in value. Cons include difficult upkeep (you may have to get on a ladder to clean and maintain them), higher installation costs, and, potentially, too much heat gain from all the extra sunlight.

There are four main types of lighting used in homes: ambient, task, accent, and decorative. Within these categories, there are a number of fixtures to choose from including ceiling-mounted lights, floor lamps, under-cabinet lights, track lighting, and more.

Choosing the fixture that’s right for you depends on your home design and the area you’re looking to illuminate.

Yes, if you have ventilated skylights, you can install insect screens on them. Insect screens for skylights cost $10 to $50 each, depending on their size and quality. Most pros highly recommend insect screens for ventilated skylights because they keep pests outside of your home while allowing fresh air inside.

Yes, reputable manufacturers typically provide warranties for their roof windows and skylights, and many installers also offer a labor warranty, although labor warranties often don’t last as long as the manufacturer’s warranty. A warranty from a skylight manufacturer is helpful in the event of leaks or other damage down the road on this type of home feature. The length of time and the terms of the warranty may vary, so it's important to review the details before making a purchase.
