Charles Stewart Roofing

Charles Stewart Roofing installed new roof in my house in Forest Hills, New York about 4 year ago in 2017 with 10-year all labor and material warranty. This month during the recent storm the roof was leaking very heavily in exact same area it leaked last time that led to the installation of the new roof. I contacted Charles Stewart Roofing and provided with video of leaking with water streaming from ceiling and pictures of damaged ceiling etc. Charles promptly responded via text message promising to repair the roof. Charles Stewart and his colleague Bill were quick to respond to my phone inquiry for a possible total flat roof replacement. They came to my home the next business day. My roof was inspected. I was given a clear organized and precise written estimate on the spot. The price was right. I felt that they were very honest. The job was done a few days afterward. I was very please with their workmanship. I will definitely use them again. Before contacting Charles Stewart Roofing, I had several roofing companies come to my home to inspect the job that had to be done. After careful deliberation, they definitely were, in my mind, the ones I wanted to replace my roof. I am very happy with the job that they did. I highly recommend them.

Had three (3) new skylights installed back in May 2017 because the original skylights were leaking and old. After they were installed, I noticed the skylights were still leaking. I then called Charles Stewart Roofing and they came out and put sealant around those skylights. As a result, in 2020, the skylights are leaking again because the drywall is falling down. Since mid-2017, there must have been a slow leak from those new skylights that were installed.

Mr. Stewart team were experts, efficient, professionals and fast. They did a very good job. My house is 3 stories tall and they brought the right equipment to get access to the roof and delivered the skylights. They perform an efficient job. I was and, still am pleased with the job done on 7/24/18. There has been no more water leak since Mr. Charlie Stewart team performed the job.

Excellent. From my very first impression, Charles Stewart and his son have been running an exemplary business. I will (and have) recommended them to anyone who is having any issues with water coming into their home from the outside. Even if the work doesn't end up being in their scope - they will give you their honest opinion and, if it is in their scope, they will give you a fair price and treat you as professionally as you could hope for. We have had water issues since we bought this (vacant) home about 6 years ago UNTIL we finally (and by "we," I mean "my wife") found Stewart Roofing. They were happy to patch our roof at a super reasonable price but I knew in the back of my mind I'd be chasing patches for ever (which is what it looked like was happening for the past 20 years). They gave us an excellent price on a full-membrane roof we've been working with them ever since. They are super responsive, will take a look when you're have an issue without a problem - often times its a relatively small fix and they treat you fairly each time. I've worked with more contractors and tradesmen and the good ones truly rise above the rest. Charles Stewart and Son are perhaps the best ones I ever worked with. The only way I think they could improve is if they could bring that same expertise and professionalism to more of the construction arena. 5 stars for sure.

Charles Stewart and sons did an excellent job putting in a new roof. They were on time and very pleasant to deal with. Will definitely use them again.

They did a great job removing the old skylight, which they informed me was the wrong one for my roof anyway. Within a few minutes, they were able to locate a brand new skylight which was the right one for my roof and installed it within a few hours. The work was done well, and they cleaned up very nicely afterwards. By the way, I showed them a problem with my awning and a small leak in my window pane, and they repaired both at no extra cost.

Workers did an excellent job. Most roofers I called wouldn't touch a clay tile roof but Charles Stewart had the expertise to do it. I liked his work so much I also had him power wash my bricks and siding and then paint the siding. Now the siding basically looks brand new.

Work was done quickly, they even showed up a day early. Roof was replaced in one day. Brick cracks repaired and sealed. Old gutters replaced with new slim version. All rubbish removed. They were very helpful and professional and returned my calls with no problem.

I called Charles to come and check out my roof and let me know what he thought needed to be done. He looked at the job, quoted me what I thought to be a fair price, and did exactly what he said he was going to do on the day he said he was going to do it. New Roof! A+++++ I highly recommend Charles Stewart. A real pro. Great work.

They arrived on time and were very professional. They explained what they thought needed to be done and were also honest about work that did not need to be done. Once we agreed, they got to work and were done quickly.

I used services of Charles Steward twice. First he installed new shingle roof in June 2017. And then in 2018 I called him to fix the leak and to coat the flat roof. In both cases they did excellent job. Always on time and very efficient.

In a heartbeat I would recommend Charles Steward Roofing! November 2018 my whole roof flew off from my house and landed on two of my neighbors’ roof. Yes, this actually happened! I felt like I was in a rainforest. 2 days of rain. Needless to say, this was an urgent matter. After numerous appointments with roofers, I knew that when Bill White from Charles Steward Roofing came to me, I was going to hire him. Bill White’s calming persona was exactly what I needed. I wasn’t told that everything had to be stripped down to the core and start all over again, the plywood would warp along with other things. He told me what was needed and suggested what could also be added to prevent this from happening again of which I agreed. In no time flat they had a new roof up and running. Also, they removed my fly away roof from both my neighbors’ roofs. My neighbor mentioned a ear in her skylight that she thought maybe was caused by my roof. Charles Stewart went up on their roof, explained what caused it (not my roof) and fixed it for them without charging and he also checked out the other neighbor’s roof. Men of INTEGRITY. Good quality roof, expertise job!

They were positive when they arrived - went through all the pointless effort of measuring, taking photos etc, but never got back to me with a quote, I had to chase them. Turns out they don't want jobs involving non-standard size/function skylights, which they should make clear to potential customers at the outset.

Charles Stewart roofers came very quickly for an estimate and were actually able to replace the skylight that day. We are very happy with our new skylight - the skylight was installed about 6 months ago and the it looks great and has held up well with no issues. Our old skylight was 30+ years old and leaking. If we have other roofing needs we will most certainly use this company again. They were so easy to work with and seemed very experienced.

The Charles Stewart Roofing company did an excellent job in helping me figure out how to deal with a leak that we had for 3 years. After dealing with other roofers and spending money and still having the problem, they confirmed that the water leak was coming from my neighbor's adjoining roof. We've had some large rains since they replaced my neighbor's roof and reinforced my roof and I have not seen a drop from the leak spot. I'm highly confident that the problem is truly resolved this time and I am very grateful for their honesty and straightforward way of dealing with me and the problem.

Charles inspected the skylight, and took pictures while he was there. He the gave us options, which included re-doing the roof as well replacing the skylight with a 12 year warranty. We took it. His crew was punctual, professional, and did a great job!

Charles responded very quickly and punctually. He was easy to work with and a very nice person to deal with. I asked him for an estimate on a flat roof repair, he had an opening that morning and came over immediately, setup his ladder and checked the roof and gave me 2 options. 1 to repair and 1 to replace. All this was done over the phone as I wasn't home at the moment. In the end I didn't go with him and had someone else do it only because of timing but I would consider them for my next project because of the great communication, average pricing (didn't gouge and was in the range I was expecting) and punctuality. He was honest about what needed to be fixed and gave me both options depending on what my budget was like.
