"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had Adirondack Basement Systems come to our home to lift our foundation, and we could not have been happier with the experience. Mikey, the foreman, and Justin, the installer, were absolutely fabulous from start to finish. Both were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly efficient. They took the time to make sure the job was done right, kept us informed throughout the process, and made what could have been a stressful home repair feel completely manageable. It is so refreshing to have a crew come into your home who clearly takes pride in their work and also genuinely cares about the customer experience. Mikey and Justin represented Adirondack Basement Systems exceptionally well. We would absolutely recommend both of them, as well as Adirondack Basement Systems, to anyone needing foundation or basement work. Five stars all around. Thank you, Mikey and Justin, for such a positive experience!"

"We were very happy with our choice of C&J Custom Builders.  They came to us as a recommendation from the neighborhood for the same basement finishing.  They were probably a bit more expensive on average but not when compared to the major custom builders in the Albany area - then they were on par but this was an expensive job so I rated that a B.   Jerry was very straightforward and professional about breaking out costs and discussing how the changes we made would impact the budget.   Cost aside, the quality of the job was very high with special attention in areas that may have otherwise gone unnoticed by us.  Example, the flooring (tile) needed leveling or dry-wall angled (instead of straight corner) to make the room/hallway larger feeling.  The job took longer than expected due to some of the flooring issues but team was always respectful, professional and a pleasure to have around while I both worked from my home and had the nanny here watching the baby.  They were not intrusive and were always nice to chat with.  Finally, Craig was never hesitant to suggest tweaks to design or layout within a room to maximize functionality or looks.  He would do what we wanted but was on the look-out to make the project as detailed and high quality as possible.  We would hire them for any future job and hope to do so in a few years."

"They were very quick to come over for the estimate. They showed up on the date they gave us and completed the work in one day. They were on time and completely professional. Everything was explained and any problems were carefully described and solutions offered. We have a 200 year old house so there are always surprises. I would use them again in a heart beat."

"Zack is simply a model tradesman. First of all, he wants to do things right. No cutting corners or just meeting the minimums. To cap it off he's the hardest working human being I have ever met. He demo'ed and replaced a full size two car garage floor in less than a week. He carefully prepped the space and installed both mesh and rebar to make sure the new floor was strong and would last. And he installed a drain the full width of the garage to make sure rain/snow melt can't collect on the new floor. AS if that wasn't enough, he went several extra miles coordinating with two other trades to make sure the entire repair project could be completed in record time. He worked closely with the plumbers so they could replace the main waste pipe (damaged by the old floor) while he prepped for the pour. He also helped expedite repair work in the basement. Zach and his crew set a very high standard for their work and work ethic. It would be great if there were more like them."

"I recently had my kitchen remodeled, and I couldn?t be happier with the results! From start to finish, the team was incredibly professional, communicated clearly every step of the way, and completed the project right on schedule. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations, and the price was very fair for the level of service and craftsmanship provided. It was such a smooth and stress-free experience, and I truly appreciated how respectful and reliable the crew was. I would absolutely hire them again for future home projects."

"Nick was honest, knowledgeable, and professional. My sump pump was making a loud noise, and instead of recommending an expensive replacement, he cleaned the pump, removed years of mud and debris, re-centered it, and got it working again. He also explained how my primary pump and water-powered backup system work and only recommended what was truly needed. I really appreciated his integrity and would definitely recommend him."

House Leveling FAQs, answered by experts

Polyjacking can be a permanent solution to sunken concrete if you also address the underlying issue—like poor drainage—at the same time. The polyurethane material itself can last as long as or even outlast the concrete you’re lifting it with. Your sunken concrete issue will likely return if you don’t couple polyjacking with proper drainage to prevent future soil movement and sinking.

Concrete leveling is absolutely worth it if you have sunken concrete slabs and want to restore them to level, especially if the slab is part of your home foundation. Concrete leveling is less than half the price of replacing concrete sidewalks, patios, walkways, and pool decks, and it’s about a quarter of the cost of replacing a foundation. If you also treat the underlying problem, it can be a worthwhile and permanent solution.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

A good slump height really depends on the project, but there is a use for nearly all slump levels. For example, low slumps are best in projects that require structure, such as curbs and roads. High slumps often require additional reinforcement, but they flow more freely into hard-to-reach spaces.
