"They refinished our 1950s hardwood floors. They covered paintings and anything we couldn't remove from the rooms and cleaned up thoroughly after the job. They educated us on what to do afterwards. "After having my existing floors refinished very poorly by another company, I knew I would not be using them to sand and stain brand new unfinished hardwood that I had installed in the rest of my house. I had called Sal based on a recommendation from a contractor. He came to my house the same day and gave me a very reasonable estimate shortly after he left. He was very responsive and easily reachable for any questions I had before and during the work. His crew was neat, effective and did a beautiful job on my new floors. My only regret is not calling Sal sooner and hiring him for the first job. I would highly recommend him and his company and I plan on using them to redo the terrible job that was done on my other floors."

There are a few different types of finishes to choose from for the final step of the project. 

Water-based polyurethane sealants emit fewer odors and fumes but dry quickly, which can pose a challenge when trying to get a smooth coat. As a result, you may have to remove and readjust baseboards and other room trimmings and potentially even raise door heights to work with the higher floors. Start the first row of vinyl planks along the longest or most visible wall in the room. This will create a clean, straight foundation row to build off of. Snap a chalk line to guide the first row, and use spacers for the most precise installation—these maintain an even extension gap between the flooring planks and the wall. Finally, double-check that the first row is level before moving on to the second row. If it’s not, start over and get it right before completing the rest of the floor.
