Customers say: Quick response

"We hired Robert and his company to remodel our whole garage. The work was done perfectly and we have nothing that we are unhappy about. Everything was done perfect. Robert and his workers are the most trustworthy , friendly and nice. They are the best contractor I have ever had. They truly cared about my project and were there to answer all the questions I had. They fixed all of my issues in the garage. They were on time, within budget and cleaned everything up after they were finished. No mess was left. I highly recommend Robert to anyone looking to hire a contractor for their Home Improvement Project."

"We hired Al to do some custom frame molding on a rather large wall in our living room. We knew what we wanted but weren't sure of the execution due to a ductless AC system that needed to be incorporated into the design. Al, Nick and Franco worked together to customize a design that fits perfectly into the space and has simply transformed the look of our living room. As for the quality of the work, the three men worked as a team and produced first-rate finish carpentry work. They showed up on time, were polite and genial, and answered any questions we had with patience and knowledge. Since we realized had stumbled upon a gem of a company, we asked if, while they were here, they could do a few other small jobs that needed tackling, involving electrical, lighting and spackling work, if it was in their range of expertise. Al and Nick assured us it was no problem, and those other, smaller jobs, were done with the same expertise and professionalism that the original job produced. We cannot give them higher praise. "Seth's team was great to work with. We refaced our kitchen cabinets, installed new counter-top, backsplash, and sink. We have a brand new kitchen that we love! From initial estimates, Seth's pricing was very competitive and also provided reassurance to all our concerns. He worked with us through all stages and communication was great throughout. Our project took a little longer than I'd hoped but that was mainly due to the holiday schedule in early Jan so that had little to do with US Cab Ref. In all 3 stages of our remodel, all parties were very professional - Cabinet refacing team, counter-top team from Cambria, and the backsplash team. We couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Many thanks to Seth and his team. We definitely recommend!"

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

As a homeowner, there are a few things you can do to prepare for your cabinet installer. Once the cabinets are ready for your home, you can do the following:

  • Ensure pets are safely in another room, out of the way of open doors and large moving objects.

  • Clear countertops for removal.

  • Tidy the floor the installers will walk through and around.

  • Prepare to have the installers in your home for the entire day, for multiple days, until the project is done. Expect to have a noisy environment, especially if they will remove old, existing cabinets.

Make sure your shelves are no more than 12 inches deep. Any deeper and it will become hard to access items towards the back of the shelf. Yet, for larger walk-in pantries, homeowners may prefer 15- to 18-inch shelving to make room for larger appliances and cookware.

Thermofoil cabinets are an affordable option for anyone who is trying to revamp their home on a budget. They are durable, come in many styles, and give your home a whole new look without breaking the bank. However, if you are looking for a long lifespan out of your cabinets or want to add resale value to your home, then you should consider higher-quality cabinets instead.

Kitchen cabinets can hold a whopping 500 pounds, but that is only possible if you attach them correctly. They must be anchored securely with long screws driven straight into the wall studs for solid support. Depending on your cabinets and the installer, some upper cabinets use specialized hanging systems or brackets for extra reinforcement, ensuring they stay put no matter how full they get.

The 1/3 rule is a design guideline used by interior designers and cabinet installers to select appropriately sized pulls for cabinets and drawers. The rule suggests that for a balanced and cohesive look, a cabinet pull should be approximately one-third the height of the cabinet door or one-third the width of the drawer face. This guideline helps create a symmetrical appearance because the human eye tends to follow the length of the pull across the cabinet face.

While the 1/3 rule is a helpful starting point, it is not the only option. If a measurement falls between available pull sizes, it's generally best to size up. For an ultra-contemporary aesthetic, you can also opt for full-width pulls that span the entire drawer.
