But it turned out they had skills to do every need that came up including window installation, carpentry. Painting, and plaster work. Every new challenge that arose in our new old house was met with sensible Solitions. The lead person we worked with was flexible with the ever-changing scope of the work and always remained positive. He was willing to make changes based on our feedback. He was reliable, productive and even worked some weekends to make our deadlines. "it started off they came late from time indicated on my contract . removed exterior door . installed new door , thats when all the crap started . they placed the door with side light in the opening . before they secured the door they opened the door ,which causes the frame to reck. thats when they started to tell me the door has a manufacturer issue , and they are doing there best . they messed up and are blaming the maker. they worked on it and got it close still not the way it is supposed to be clean up and off they go now the send me an invoice $150.00 more than the quote , i question it and they tell me they had to use a couple cans of foam 1/2 a tube of silicon. that doesnt justify 150 dollars. then they say they worked 6 hrs insted of 5hrs set forth by the contract. one problem they started late and left well before the aloted 5 hrs . all that said nice guys . thats about it . now i have to hire a real professional to take the door out reset it in the frame and reinstall it. "

I am a home maintenance company and I have been in business since 2007. I pride myself on being honest and dependable and I take pride in my work. I do not believe in creating more of a problem for my customer than they have or leaving my mess behind. If I can't do the job, I tell my customer up front and recommend another honest, dependable contractor. I do use subcontractors - BUT I am always on the job and I only use those who I have done business with for many years. I offer free estimates, but I do charge for written estimates. "The owner of Your Way Home Improvement came to give us an estimate on August 17th to inspect and repair our soffits to keep pests out. He showed us a piece of ripped off notebook paper with the estimate on it and asked for a $1,000 deposit for a job that would be approximately $1,900. Because we had had such a difficulty time trying to find someone to do the job, we foolishly wrote a check for the $1,000 without a formal contract. Mr. Hedrick told us that he would start the job either Friday the 19th or Monday the 22nd. The check cleared our account on the 19th but we still had not heard from Mr. Hedrick. On Monday the 22nd, I texted Mr. Hedrick to ask when he planned to begin work. He responded that he had just gotten his phone back, that his brother was helping him on the job because he had a truck to carry the equipment and it shouldn't be much longer. I thanked him and told him we were getting nervous; he responded that there was no need to be nervous. On the 25th I texted Mr. Hedrick again asking for a start date. He stated that he had just messaged his brother and would get back to us as soon as he received a response. On Monday the 29th I texted Mr. Hedrick requesting our $1,000 deposit be returned as soon as possible and we would find another contractor to do the job: no response. I texted again on the 30th and received no reply. Mr. Hedrick did respond to BBB stating that he would contact us to remedy the situation; I responded that all we wanted was our money back. No response to BBB following this. My understanding was that at one time he was a very good contractor; such a shame that this is no longer the case."
