"Great. Punctual and neat and lovely workers. Did more work than originally asked for because Rufino saw I had a real problem with a hole in my wall. I would definitely hire again!"

"Very well, Damon and his nephew Jay were very meticulous with the work they did and cleaned up every day. They removed an old fiber glass tub/shower enclosure in our guest bathroom and installed a better tub and tiled the surround, replaced plumbing hardware. Downstairs they removed an ugly slate floor from our foyer and powder room and retiled with a lighter more modern look. I provided the materials."

"Peter Smith runs a professional company. We have used this company several times and will continue to do so. Not only are they professional, they also were very sensitive to our needs. We had a time line to meet and they were able to help with that. His painters are were always on time, and ready to get the job done. They took pride in their work and made sure we were happy with the results. We would highly recommend using this company."

"We are doing renovation on our bathroom, and Luis and his team did all the tiling. The tiles were laid out beautifully. We are also replacing our garage door, and the floor was bumpy and not level. So, Luis re-cement the area, and now it's level and ready for the new door."

"Eddie was FANTASTIC!!! He responded to my inquiry right away and met me just a few days later to review the work that needed to be completed. He was professional and efficient, and takes the time to do a great job. I am in the process of moving and my new apt needed some baseboards replaced, furniture assembled, and he helped complete the framing of a closet nook we created. He's a a real contractor and has a great eye for how to accomplish what you want to create/fix. I have used Eddie several times now and would highly recommend him for anything you need done in your home."

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use a storage shed several ways, including as a chicken coop, but you'll need to make some modifications. You will have to add a chicken door, roosts, ventilation near the roof, mesh on the windows, and insulation if you live in a colder climate. Additionally, you’ll want to ensure that the shed is predator-proof so no other animals can harm your chickens. You should also add a run and nest boxes to your shed.

Choose a barn door with an extra two to three inches on either side of the frame. The width of the barn door will depend on the type and placement of your track, but in most cases, an additional inch or two will do the trick.

Rustic and modern farmhouse styles are currently the most popular. These include rustic and antique furniture, muted colors, clean lines, eclectic decor, and natural materials. Some other popular farmhouse styles include the following:

  • Coastal farmhouse: Creates a lighter, airier feel with soft colors and blue palettes, along with gold

  • Colonial farmhouse: Focuses on real antique furniture and decor

  • French farmhouse: Leans on French country architecture and design by including marble and lighter-colored metals, like zinc

  • Industrial farmhouse: Includes thick, chunky furniture and dark metals

  • Scandinavian farmhouse: Usually includes lighter wood colors and more refined furniture

Whether you should choose a flat roof or a sloped roof depends on your particular situation. Flat roofs tend to be less expensive to install. However, sloped roofs have longer lifespans and stand up better to heavy snow and other inclement weather.

Keep in mind that even a flat roof needs to have a slight slope, usually around 1/2 inch for every foot. If it is completely flat, water will pool and cause damage, either from weight or leakage or rot.

Building a tiny house is the least complicated way to build, especially if you’re tackling the project as a DIY. The smaller size means less complex plans, more straightforward utility installation, and fewer ways to make costly errors. Tiny homes still need to conform to building codes and often have other applicable regulations, so be sure to get the proper permits and confirm your build is by the book.
