Customers say: Quality work

All Masonry needs, patios, walkways, retaining walls, sprinkler systems, cultured stone. Small professional local company. Quick completion times and very dependable. Free Estimates. 20 Years professional experience.

"When you can get Rick to show up to the job he and his crew do quality work. Getting him there on time as scheduled has proven to be difficult. Currently (10/20/2021) Rick has been fully paid and my job has sat half finished for over a month now. Doesn't really respond to my messages and when he does it's more of the same, "sorry been busy". In my opinion not worth the chance of having same thing happen to you, you want to be confident that your going to get what you pay for, and sorry to say that's not Rick."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

No. Both processes are important for a healthy yard and work toward a similar goal, although dethatching serves a slightly different purpose. Making sure the thatch doesn’t grow too thick prevents other lawn problems, such as attracting pests if the plant decay layer gets too big. Aeration puts less strain on your lawn than dethatching, but both are of equal importance.

You can reseed a rundown lawn with dead grass, but first, you should remove all of the dead parts and test the soil. Doing this will help you understand what’s killing your lawn so that you can fix it and prevent it from ruining your new grass. Once you’ve made the appropriate adjustments, you can rake, fertilize, and reseed.

Don’t pick up dirt after aerating. Even though it's tempting because soil cores are incredibly unsightly, these cores and the dirt they leave behind are ecologically important. This is what keeps your grass looking beautiful and growing healthily. The soil cores need two to three weeks to decompose, but you can swat them with a rake if their natural shape bothers you.

Experts typically recommend aerating your lawn about once per year, but your aeration frequency will depend on your soil type, lawn condition, and other factors. For instance, you should aerate annually if you have clay-heavy soil or frequent foot traffic in your backyard. However, if your soil is loose or sandy and you don't use your yard often, you can probably aerate every other year.

Yes, after the lawn is overseeded post-aeration, most of the seed germinates in the aeration holes. This leaves the soil undisturbed while lush and healthy grass will grow in the holes' place. The point of this is to create extra turf density in areas that really need it, such as a large patch of dead grass where a shed used to be.
