"Great work, very professional, friendly, and overall a pleasant gentleman to work with. Hired him to drywall two full bedrooms. Unintentional made him have to some framing due to work I did (sorry about that). He took it in stride.. Wish I could do half stars, I would give him 4.5 stars out of 5. The reason being, there was a drywall that wasnt installed in an out of sight part of one closet. I will easily install myself, but for transparency I thought I mention it. Would 100% hire him again if I have the chance."

"I had what I thought was a cosmetic repair and Karl Duell explained and showed me that there was mold behind this break in the ceiling likely from an old leak I was unaware of. The repairs and other work that I authorised was completed cleanly and professionally. I was pleased with their work and would hire them again. If you have work to be done I highly recommend them."

"We are rehabbing an old home. Shane (Dekarated) has been with us through all phases! Pics include our renovated bathroom- gutted, all new tile, drywall and installation of raw edge wood that we wanted to incorporate. Our renovated living/dining room- we raised all the doorways and Shane created a custom archway and built ins. Our entryway tile floor. He is our go-to guy!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

The short answer is yes, a sagging plaster ceiling is dangerous. Sagging plaster on a wall is something you should fix immediately, but it isn’t a major concern. If the same type of sagging occurs on a ceiling, however, you could be in danger of your ceiling falling in large chunks. When plaster sags, it loses its strength and ability to hold itself up. The bonds that hold it together are strong, though, so if a sagging area falls, it will take large pieces down with it.

Yes, drywall nail pops are a common occurrence in homes, both new and old, resulting from the settling and shifting of the structure over time. Though not present in every room or on every wall, encountering nail pops in different sections of a home is not unusual, particularly if the temperature, humidity, or foundation has experienced changes.

Plastering and skimming are two different techniques for finishing walls. Plastering involves applying a thick layer of a plaster mixture—typically containing gypsum, lime, cement, sand, and water—to create a new surface. This process often requires multiple coats and is used for repairing significant damage or creating decorative textures. Skimming, on the other hand, is a technique that involves applying a thin layer of drywall compound or joint compound over an existing surface to smooth it out, covering minor imperfections, small cracks, or uneven textures for a polished look. Plastering is generally more costly and labor-intensive than skimming. Although some people use the terms interchangeably, they refer to different processes and materials.

The tool you use to sand plaster will depend on the size of the project. If you’re just working on a small section of your wall to get rid of an uneven spot on the surface, hand-sanding might work. However, for larger projects, a drywall sander can make a huge difference when it comes to both time and elbow grease—and an orbital sander can help for detailed areas such as around ceiling fans.

Glass walls are more expensive overall than their brick or drywall counterparts. However, if you need walls for a building with more than two or three stories, glass walls are the more budget-friendly option.
