"Very limited in offerings on vinyl flooring and stair carpet. Not much of a selection. It seemed pricey even with the home advisor discount. I prefer to go to a store a view selections and see the prices in front of me. The salesperson worked out prices on her ipad, and phone call to main office, I did not see prices. Price was just quoted and not explained in detail."

"Vince and his crew were extremely professional. I was contacted immediately after my request was sent in via servicemagic for my need to find carpet installers. They were able to work with my budget to fulfill my needs. The crew went above and beyond what they were asked to do and the finished product more than met my satisfaction. "I was disappointed. It seemed like a switched deal. You advertised $49.99 as the price for air ducts and everything and when he came out here, he quoted me the price of over $200. He said that it was just vents and he wanted to do everything so I was just disappointed with him. I bargained with him and said that I did not want all the returns so I ended up paying $150 on top of the $50 that I had already paid. If I wanted both the returns it was going to be $100 above that.He knew that it was an Angie's List big deal purchase and he still charged me more than what the big deal was for. I know that he did pull dust out of the air duct and they were cleaned. He arrived on time, he was a young kid, obviously he wasn't the owner of the business or anything like that.I think that if that fee that is advertised on the Angie's List website isn't the correct fee, that needs to be disclosed upfront. The price wasn't unreasonable. It was regular if I had just called somebody out of the blue, but when you gave me that big deal price, I assumed that was it. I would not use this provider again in the future."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Several types of flooring can be installed over existing tile, provided the current tiles are in good condition. Options include vinyl, vinyl plank, laminate, engineered wood, hardwood, carpet, and cork. Among these, various types of vinyl and engineered wood are the most common choices due to their versatility. Alternatively, you can install new tiles on top of your current ones if you like tile floors but want to update the look. Before proceeding with any new flooring, it's crucial to ensure your existing tiles are not damaged; otherwise, they will need to be removed first.

In order to avoid long-lasting waves, indents, or sticking, it’s a good idea to wait at least 24 hours after fresh carpet is laid to put weighty furniture on top of it. However, you can begin walking on your new carpet right after it’s installed, and doing so can actually help it adhere to the floor better.

Spring and fall are the best seasons for installing carpet. Both seasons benefit from moderate temperatures and low humidity levels, which can help the carpet acclimate to the room and settle properly once installed. However, installing carpet during the winter months could result in lower costs, as demand for this service is low.

Acclimating laminate flooring cannot be rushed. Laminate flooring needs at least 48 hours to acclimate properly to its new environment, and being patient during this time can make installation go smoother because you will not be dealing with boards that have expanded or contracted during the shipping process. You will also be less likely to damage the boards during installation.

If the installer is unwilling to fix the problems and you’re not interested in seeking remediation, you could hide a visually unpleasant floor. This will only work if the floor is structurally sound and the only issue you have is the way it looks. The easiest way to do this is to use large area rugs. You can also paint the floor, although that’s a labor-intensive job if you want to go the DIY route.
