"The F&B crew was great. They showed up when they were supposed to, worked hard all day, and did beautiful work. Jessy helped me find the perfect materials for my jobs. She made sure that every last detail was taken care of. She really went the extra mile to make sure that I was completely satisfied with their work. I would strongly recommend F&B Masonry to anyone looking to have stone work done at their home or business."

Customers say: Quick response

"Brickworks Corp did a great job cementing a gap in my chimney and repointing my stoop and some other masonry work. However, they did not do a great job of cleaning and had dust and masonry particles all over the front of my house after the job was completed."

Small jobs welcome

"DiMassi and Sons installed a block wall, paths, block steps a replacement stoop and designer portico. No sub-contractors were used for any phase of the work. Sal DiMassi was there working alongside his talented crew every step of the way. They showed up every day until the job was completed, no matter how cold and bleak the weather, and worked until dark. His pricing was fair and more than competitive especially considering the finished job we received. Sal really knows his stuff. In fact, I'm having them come back in the spring to build us a new driveway. I highly recommend DiMassi and Sons Landscaping for any sort of outdoor stone work, but only if you want your job to stand out among all others and be finished in a timely and professional manner."

"I own discount cesspool and drain inc, ive been using Mike for over 10 years! His work is always perfect. He gives me and many new home owners the more resonable prices ever! Mike always comes on time and gives me a free in person estimate. If his price is higher than other contractors he beats the other price quoted by $500 every time. One of my favorite parts about this conpany is that they are family owned and operated. I highly recommend thid company to anyone looking for beautiful work, foundations, waterproofing, Ashphault work, brick and masnary work!! Thanks again Mike and Jim!!! -Dom Motta, president of Discount Cesspool and Drain Inc"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Prioritize safety by hiring local professionals for structural masonry work. Farmingville features sandy glacial soil, which increases the risk of cave-ins during foundation excavation. You must also account for high groundwater and strong winds that affect scaffolding stability. If your home was built between the 1950s and 1970s, ask a certified specialist to test for asbestos in older mortar before starting any project.

Helpful?

Manage minor masonry work issues by applying temporary weatherproofing sealant to exposed brick faces before winter arrives. Brush off white salt deposits with a stiff, dry brush to improve the appearance of your walls. Fill hairline cracks in concrete steps with flexible caulk to prevent ice damage. Always hire a professional to repoint mortar or excavate the sandy Farmingville soil.

Helpful?

Homeowners frequently update their post-WWII ranch and split-level houses with brick veneer to boost curb appeal. Because the area features rolling terrain, building natural fieldstone retaining walls is an excellent masonry work upgrade. Residents across NY also love replacing aging concrete stoops and backyard patios with bluestone pavers. Additionally, restoring deteriorating brick chimneys remains a top priority for maintaining these mid-century homes.

Helpful?

Farmingville features variable glacial soils and rolling terrain, which create uneven load-bearing capacities and complicate foundation access. Many mid-century homes also have concrete block foundations and low-slope roofs that make chimney access difficult. If your property has large mature trees, the root systems will undermine walkways and retaining walls. Assess these structural factors and mixed foundation types before starting any masonry work.

Helpful?

Inspect the damage closely to determine the correct repair. Stair-step cracks in brick point to settlement issues requiring masonry work. Horizontal cracks in your basement block walls indicate lateral soil pressure, which demands a structural evaluation. If your retaining wall leans, you face a drainage failure rather than a material defect. Spalling bricks are common in the NY climate and require immediate replacement.
