We have many long-term customers that own homes or commercial properties in and around Ithaca. Some of our customers prefer us to work on a time and materials basis, and some prefer to have a bid. As the business owner, I am always the one to show up to look at and estimate a job. I have many long-term employees, and I also bring in specialists(architects, structural engineers, interior designers, etc.) on a as needed basis. We work out billing details for each project; for smaller bidded projects we typically do half down and then the last half on completion. For larger projects we break it down into more payment stages so our clients don't ever feel overextended but also so we have enough funding to operate in an efficient manner. We can carry financing on projects, yet typically that happens more frequently with commercial work. Payment plans are available. We offer a returning client discount.

"Just weeks after installation, siding began falling off. After numerous calls, ABG Contracting (Milton Price) finally came out and used glue to try to secure the siding. Within days, that solution failed. Once again we contacted ABG Contracting but they didn't return to fix the siding until the following summer. Shortly thereafter, MORE siding fell off. They have not responded to text messages, phone calls, or email requests for repairs. In addition to the siding issue, ABG failed to install flashing when they installed the roof vent pipe, which created water damage to the walls and ceiling in the bathroom. The damaged drywall will need to be replaced, re-primed, and re-painted. ABG installed the entrance door incorrectly (out of plumb) and we had to remove it and reinstall it."

Plaster can be a difficult DIY to master, especially if you plan to plaster an entire room, rather than patch a small area. Before you begin a plaster DIY project, you need to know which tools and type of plaster to use. It's also important to know how to prepare the surface and apply the plaster for a smooth finish. This depends on how much plaster is applied and in how many layers, but a decent estimate is around 150 square feet. If you are applying only two coats on a small wall, there is a chance you may only need one or two gallons for the entire project. If you are plastering a large living room wall with high ceilings, using one of the more involved techniques–like Scagliola–that requires several coats, expect the project materials costs to add up quickly. 

It is possible to repair plaster yourself, but we don’t recommend it. Plaster repair is easy in theory but difficult in practice. Applying repair plaster is straightforward, but ensuring the area is prepped properly to receive the new plaster and ensuring that the finished product looks smooth and professional both demand experience. Plus, repairs are especially difficult if you have a textured ceiling or walls. Paying for professional plaster repair is worth the investment if you want your wall to look good as new.

Like many other repair projects, the cost to fix a behind-the-wall shower leak depends on several factors. The cost of your repair may depend on the type of leak (from a clog or burst pipe), type of piping, and location of the leak.
