"Their patience was what impressed me the most. Leonard and Jessica got the estimate to me promptly but I had to get approval from the Church trustee board and it took awhile. After approved they scheduled our driveway replacement quickly and stayed in touch when the weather did not cooperate. Leonard's team were polite and did a fantastic job. They completed the entire driveway which posed a difficult removal of 2 big slabs of concrete. I would recommend them. Very professional."

Customers say: Quality work

"Provided recommendations and installed concrete pavers and Belgian block curbing at front walkway of my home. Arrived on time for initial appointment and arrived promptly to begin work on the day promised. Good quality work was completed in a timely manner. I would use Escalera landscaping again and would recommend this landscaper."

"Outstanding Job on My Driveway! I had my driveway done with new blacktop asphalt, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The crew was incredibly friendly, professional, and efficient — they worked together like a well-oiled machine. You could tell they knew exactly what they were doing from start to finish. The owner, Rich, was on-site the whole time, making sure everything was done right and to a high standard. That kind of hands-on dedication really stood out to me. My neighbors were so impressed with how great my driveway looked that they hired the same company on the spot! I’d recommend this company 10X over — excellent work, great people, and fantastic results."

"Jaime spent some time preparing an old porch concrete floor for new cement to make it level. This included fastening two different kinds of wire mesh onto the old floor to add strength and reduce the possibility of cracking and scoring it. He also scored a concrete window sill that wrapped around the porch. Then he poured concrete on the floor, leveled it, and put down porcelain tile on the floor and sills, accurately cutting the edge pieces, then finishing up with the grouting. The result is a very good-looking, level, solid tile floor with matching window sills. I am very happy with the results, and would most definitely hire Jaime for a concrete/tile job again. In fact, I did hire him again within a couple of weeks, to repair a section of the wall with missing stucco. The repaired section perfectly matches the rest of the wall. Jaime charged a reasonable amount for both jobs. You cannot go wrong with this guy."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.

Yes, acid washing can change the appearance of the original brick stain color. It removes dirt, and efflorescence, often revealing the brick's original color and restoring its natural beauty. However, if not done carefully, it can also cause slight variations in color due to the cleaning process.

The ideal frequency for pressure washing depends on the surface being cleaned and your local environmental conditions. For a home's exterior with siding that is safe to wash (such as vinyl, cement, or aluminum), a full wash once or twice a year is a good guideline to remove accumulated dirt, grime, mold, and mildew. You may need to wash more frequently if you live in an area with heavy rain or snow, near a dirt road, or if you notice excessive buildup. Other surfaces have different schedules; for example, a frequently used driveway may need cleaning more often, while outdoor patio furniture might only need to be washed every few years. Use your discretion based on how dirty the area gets.

Most powerwashing jobs take 2-6 hours, but larger buildings or areas with deep staining may require an entire day.

On average, pressure washing a house can take anywhere from 30 minutes to three hours. The time frame to pressure wash or power wash your home, fence, or other property depends on the size of the project and the complexity and accessibility of the areas that need cleaning. Part of the time required to complete the job includes setup and removal of equipment needed. A two-story house with a steep roof may require working from scaffolding or a ladder, likely adding to the time required to finish the project.
