There were some areas I pushed him beyond the normal conventions of gate design (like size of main pillars and mix of materials). He always kindly shared his concerns and the norms of past customers, but never failed to find a way forward once he understand my aims. "the company installed two gates on driveway and one fence.  The workers were terrific  and added extra fencing so that the dog wouldn't go out.  I wish they had thought through the fence gate a lithe bit better.  The workers had to add an extra piece to the bottom so the dog couldn't get out.
