Customers say: Quality work

"James and crew demolished an old crummy slate sidewalk and poured a nice clean concrete one. We talked about the design and shape of it and James was very accommodating to what I wanted. I am not a trusting person when it comes to contractors, but James earned my trust. I scratched the year in the setting concrete, and my homage to the company that poured it (photo below). I will surely hire Rock Solid again."

"I would hire Carlos and his crew any day of the week!! He is an honest, hardworking man who obviously cares about the work he does. The whole crew was wonderful, and the driveway is AWESOME! They also replaced my cement walkway with unilock papers and it's beautiful. Excellent work. ultra competitive pricing, on time and good to his word. You can't go wrong with these guys! I wish I had more work for them..."

"Overall the driveway looks nice. I would have liked to see him clean the driveway and pull the few weeds out before sealing it. Or, he should have told me in advance to do this. I was not told to prep the driveway so I did not."

"Mete from King Street Contractors was the best I could have asked for. I wasn?t sure about the process for paving my driveway as we had never had it done before. He explained what would be done, how long it would take, and gave me a very reasonable price for the job. He was communicative, helpful, and efficient. The next time that I have some work to be done at my house where I need a professional, I will absolutely be returning to King Street Contractors. 10/10 recommend!"

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

Deciding whether to buy or rent a pressure washer depends on your budget and how often you plan to use it.

  • Renting: The daily rental cost typically ranges from $40 to $175. Renting can be more cost-effective for a one-time project.

  • Buying: The purchase price for a pressure washer can range from $100 to over $1,000. More specifically, electric models generally cost between $100 and $400, while gas models run from $300 to $600.

If you anticipate using a pressure washer multiple times a year, buying one is often a better long-term investment. When purchasing, remember that a higher-quality machine will likely deliver better and more reliable results.

Whether you need to winterize your pressure washer depends on where it will be stored. If it's kept in a location where temperatures could drop to freezing, any liquid left in the water pump can freeze, expand, and cause severe damage to the machine. To prevent this, you can add antifreeze to the pump. While emptying the machine with compressed air is an alternative, it can be a tedious process and may not remove all the liquid. If you can store the pressure washer in a relatively warm place with no risk of freezing, you won't need to add antifreeze. However, regardless of storage conditions, it is good practice to empty the gas chamber and refresh the oil before storing it for the winter.

The best plan for removing rust stains from concrete is to progressively move from weaker cleaners to heavy-duty acids. Move from dish soap to vinegar to oxalic acid to muriatic acid, stopping whenever the stain is sufficiently removed. This process ensures that only the safest possible methods are used, rather than jumping right into a powerful cleaner that may be effective but unsafe and unnecessary

Yes, acid washing can change the appearance of the original brick stain color. It removes dirt, and efflorescence, often revealing the brick's original color and restoring its natural beauty. However, if not done carefully, it can also cause slight variations in color due to the cleaning process.

You shouldn’t directly paint over an oil stain on your asphalt driveway. While painting over might visually conceal the stain, the oil will continue to damage the driveway. Once you’ve noticed the oil stain, it’s important to thoroughly remove it within the next few months since oil stains only take six months before they begin to damage the structure of your asphalt driveway.
