"Jared was amazing with communication and the attention to detail with the installation of the electrical panel was beyond expectation. He gave us exactly what we asked for and more. I would hire him again for any future electrical projects we might have. His team was also highly skilled and talked us through everything they were doing."
My name is Billy Abbey, 52, I have been learning the trades from my teens to now. I generally work alone, but I have a hand full of regular employees who work when needed, including my so , Blake, who is a union electrician. My specialty is flooring, however, I have experience working nearly anything, if I am nkt comfortable with a request, I have somebody that is. Im very detail oriented, great work ethic, and love working with the public as I worked at Home Depot for several years. Insured, free quotes
"Pleasure to work with on recessed lighting install. Ken was responsive to questions and time changes via email/phone. We removed the old lighting, did some of the recessed lighting layout, and obtained the materials (he reviewed to make sure it was OK). His installation and electrical work was handled professionally and on schedule. Any adjustments were reviewed with me as a courtesy. We thought the price was fair for the work done. Nice job."
"I have needed this company for a couple emergencies. 1) pipe froze and broke while I was delivering my Daughter came home to water spraying all over the basement-called them they escalated my call to their emergency service and within an hour the Plumber showed up and quickly repaired our line. 2) had our sump pump fail and 2 ft of standing water (a yr after water line broke) again I called and the Receptionist was very empathetic and escalated my call and sent the plumber to my home and within 4 hours of my call the basement was drained and a new sump pump was installed. 3) I had noticed that my back yard was getting wet and then had standing water that was foul.. Called and on the 2nd call the the Receptionist took down my information and had me send pictures of my issue to the plumber, he called me and stated that it looked like my septic distribution box had failed and he could be out the next day to replace it. I agreed with the plan he can on time, switched it out and referred me to a service to have my septic pumped. I called the septic company he referred and within 3 days they had me scheduled. They showed up, pumped my tank and all is well. So far I have not had one bad experience and I really appreciate the Receptionist "Shay" being kind and helpful. Thank you! Natural gas generators are designed to run for extended periods of time, such as power outages during a natural disaster. Since there’s no limit to the supply of natural gas, they don’t need to stop for refills. However, generators do need maintenance, including pauses to check and add oil. Constantly running them will also cause a lot more wear and tear, leading to a shorter lifespan.
Sizing a generator is a careful process that requires calculating the electrical load of your entire house. You have to take into account every device you want to use and their wattage requirements, plus the wattage needed to start them, and look for a generator that can safely run all that at around 80% capacity.
In more practical terms, a small home can run on a 10,000-watt generator (and if you only want to power a few key appliances, much less than that). A mid-sized home may need something between 15,000 and 22,000 watts. Larger homes require 25,000 watts or more.
Yes, natural gas generators can work without electricity. Natural gas generators are a common type of backup or whole-house generator that operates when the electrical grid isn’t working. The trick is using a transfer switch (which usually needs to be installed with the generator) that safely switches the home electrical system from the power grid to generator power when needed.
Yes, in some locations, it is required by the National Electric Code (NEC) to have a transfer switch installed for electrical emergencies. In addition to following electrical code, generator transfer switches ensure your home is fully protected during a power outage. By switching the power from the main breaker to the generator breaker, you can seamlessly operate your HVAC, lights, appliances, devices, and more during an emergency.
Yes, in most municipalities, you will need a permit to install a permanent home generator, including emergency backup, partial-home, and whole-home models. Because these installations involve significant alterations to your home's electrical system and produce exhaust fumes, local governments often require a permit or inspection for safety purposes. A generator permit typically costs between $50 and $250, depending on your location. Your electrician or certified installer can usually handle the permitting process for you, but you will be responsible for the cost. It's a good practice to confirm with your installer that they will pull all necessary permits before work begins.
